Yes. Here is the ad.
This ad is a fake. Match all the items I have outlined in the pinned topic above. They are all there.
It's classic.
The pink outline on the photo is a tell tale sign for THIS particular scammer. Not all the other scammers mod thier pics like this.
I am trying to save this page before it is taken down so I can mark the examples on it. We'll see if it works! (Too big for a screen shot.. but I'll try 2!)

I forwarded the auction to Ebay, someone is going to get taken to the cleaners here in 6 hours.

I believe I've seen the picture of the side dinette with that lamp on it at least three times now - makes it quite easy to spot the scam!

It's listed under business machines and horse trailers.

I saved the listing as a PDF file if you are interested.
How about this statement in this person's ad:
I do not answer to emails on Sundays, Sunday is my day for church and my family.

The one I like is where he says he won't be able to read email until next week - reminds me of Joe's Crab Shack - Free Crab Tomorrow

The really insidious scams are the ones where somebody has hijacked a legitimate account with lots of good feedback
|
I was very surprised to get a personal reply from EBay customer service concerning the hijack of my photos for the scam ad. Here is a copy of the reply:
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to item number 170014092339.
I wanted to let you know that the listing you reported was created
through an account that was compromised to list unauthorized items. We
have since secured the account and contacted the true owner. Thanks for
taking the time to let us know.
EBay seems to have taken care of the important part first, the ad was removed within a couple of hours, even though the reply took 5 days.

Probable scam Bigfoot 13', What to do now?
http://houston.craigslist.org/car/191464512.html
Thanks to Gina's point-by-point guide to spotting scams, I'm pretty sure this is one. Is it okay to click the "Spam" or the "Prohibited" button, or send an email to report it if I'm not 100% sure, or what?
Is there some way we could mess with these people, or do we just let eBay and Craigslist, etc. do it? If my email address didn't have my entire name spelled out, I'd be tempted to keep these guys busy with questions.

I think its fine to report the ad even if you aren't 100% sure. C/L or ebay will investigate and act accordingly.
And you can always sign up for a free email from yahoo or gmail or something and ask questions from there. However, I suspect that after the first one you'll get a brief response and no further answers unless its clear you've been hooked into the scam. And all they'll want to talk about is payment details. These people probably have hundreds of ads out at any given time. The sad thing is that it must work at least some of the time because they keep doing it...

Good news that it was zapped, but I'm sure we'll see it again.
I would have loved to get a camper like that for $2900. If these campers had resale values like motorhomes, we might be looking at prices like these. Good for us owners that they retain their value so well. Plus they are so cute.

Why do you think this one is a scam? Have you seen the pictures before?
Call or email them. It *looks* OK, but..
the price is a bit low, but not outragiously so.

Although its very good, I also suspect its a scam. The email address in particular is similar to what has shown up in other scam posts. And $2800 seems to be this scammer's price of choice. This post has some more info on this person (maybe posted by someone here?)

I think this is him/her too
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/191468670.html
Another thing that links them for me (and links them with other c/l scam postings of late) is the 'stats' listing at the beginning of the ad. The format is very similar and I rarely see people post like that on c/l (and, living in the home of craigslist I 'craigslist' A LOT).

The other thing Ive noticed is that its posted in Houston but supposedly is located in Lubbock. By itself that's not odd, but why didn't they also post it in Lubbock which has a craigslist, or in Dallas that is a major metropolitan area and closer to Lubbock? I have noticed that the guy that is putting the scamp on (with the sunflowers) put it on Houston and said it was in Lubbock. Maybe he thought his scamp was noticable as a scam and has switched to bigfoot?

Not much, other than be aware. And reporting them all as you see them.
The graphics in these things is getting worse and worse.
