Boondocker’s Special
I am the original owner, purchased new Jan, 2017. Excellent condition. Aside from the drive from Rice, TX to California the
Casita has been used around a dozen times in northern California. It has been stored indoors. I recently purchased a motorhome and don’t have room in the warehouse at work to store both of them. The
Casita is a great trailer. I have considered keeping it but I don’t want to store it outside and with the motorhome I don’t expect it would see enough use to justify holding onto it.
In the short time that I have owned the
Casita I have made extensive improvements. These were made to benefit off grid style camping. These include shocks, high-lift kit, 2 6v 220AH Lifeline AGM batteries, 2 100w Renogy Eclipse
solar panels, Blue Sky 25 amp MPPT controller and Xantrex ProSine Inverter. A custom-made
battery box was fabricated to allow for 2 batteries to be placed in the same location as the stock
battery. I also removed the stock air conditioner since it is not operable without a
generator or AC power. The trailer tows much better without the
weight of the AC that high up in the back. If you require an air conditioner I believe it would cost around $1000 to have one installed. All the wiring is in place so if you are handy you could do it yourself for less.
I am located in Sacramento, CA. The Casita will stay stored indoors until such time that it is
sold. I have not been active in the Casita forums but have been active on the Casita Facebook group. Below is a full listing of all the modifications from a stock Spirit Deluxe.
