Question for EggCamper owners

If you have installed a flat screen tv in your EggCamper, where and how did you install it? i'm getting into "going south (probably Texas & Arizona) for the winter" mode. Thanks

I left the base on mine and plan on setting it on the cabinet at the front. It's only a 24" screen (just the right size).

Have you looked into the possibility of a flip down hanging under an overhead cabinet if possible?

Thanks Ms. Gayle. My question was directed specifically to owners of EggCampers. By the photo, yours appears to be exactly where & how Jim Palmer, owner of the factory suggested. What do you do for an antenna? Is that squarish thing hanging down from the rear corner cabinet an antenna? Appears you have named yours "EPod". Mine is Rocinante. If it was good enough for Don Quijote and John Steinbeck, I thought it was good enough for me.

My EggCamper had a rv style coaxial hookup on outside by the electrical hookup for campground cable and I carried a Winegard Hideaway antenna set up on a 8' pvc pipe for over the air. The cable ran along the interior street side cabinets, water tank, water heater to rear and then up to the upper curb side rear cabinet. I mounted the tv to the end of the kitchen cabinet with additional wooden support behind the tv mount over the bed.

Yes Bob, the square thing is the indoor antenna from Camping World..Winegard Rayzar Indoor HDTV Antenna - Winegard RV-RZ50 - Over-the-Air Antennas - Camping World.

I also have a cable connection when I am in an RV park with a connection.

My Dad helped me put up the TV mount. We did put wood on the inside of the cabinet for stability. I chose that location for what I thought was the most stable location and the mount for the ability to pull the tv out and view from the dining area or the bed area.

The TV is my home kitchen TV. If I were using it exclusively for the Egg I would take off the TV stand. I do store the TV during travel.

Two questions: does the antenna do a satisfactory job for you and is it powered? Actually I have another question so that would be three. Does the tv swing around while you're on the move or does it stay pretty well in place or does it need to be anchored? More than 3 questions, I guess. You should add Michigan to your list of states camped in so you could visit the factory which is in Grandville, a suburb of Grand Rapids. Thanks afain.

I used a bungee strap attached with 2 3M removable strips worked, antenna is not powered, otherwise you will need a 12v supply.

Excuse me rgrugg for offering you my 2cents. I missed that you only wanted to hear from EggCamper owners only. I'll pay more attention to the post in the future.

Thanks for your suggestion. It looks like a good idea but it won't work in an EggCamper. That's exactly why I specified EggCamper because there are so VERY FEW places where a tv could be mounted. If I didn't want to mount it I could put it on a dinette seat, the table, or the counter but I want it mounted and , according to the company owner, it appears that the way Ms. Gayle has hers mounted is probably the best of two places, the other of which would cause the loss of use of one of the cupboards. I appreciate your interest.

I do not leave the TV on the mount during travel. The antenna does pretty good. If you are fairly close to a town, I can pick up 3-15 channels....enough to usually get the news and provide some entertainment. I have been some places where I get no reception. For $40 I am happy for the use I have gotten out of it over the last year.

Looks like I can't mount the tv where I want it unless I can find a smaller mounting bracket. It's too wide to fit on the end of the upper cabinet. Until I can find something more suitable, I guess I'll have to put the base on it and set it on the counter. Many thanks to all who replied.

We simply place our TV on the dining table and run a coaxial cable out the window to a rabbit ears antenna that I place on the roof of the camper. I use a flat coaxial cable piece like this when I pass it through the window: Flexible Flat Coaxial cable By Perfect Vision

We don't watch TV much when camping, and when we do, we usually watch DVDs, so the times we use the antenna are quite rare.
