I just came across this thread. Both of you (you and your sister) have done a fantastic job. I am never going to undertake something like this, but I like many of your ideas and I am always thinking of incremental improvements on my Scamp. Thumbs up!

Thanks Paul, It’s sites like this one (fiberglassrv) that push us to always try to do better. It’s a project now, but can’t wait for the day of completion, just to take it out and have some fun.

Ross, google marine headliner, and you will come up with a thin foam backed vinyl. I believe I saw it at west marine.

Thanks David, I did see that but had already purchased my Leatherette. Now that I have found the felt I am doomed in working double ( glue process ). Since I purchased everything real cheap it will probably cost me more because of the price of glue. And that’s not counting my time. Projects are a learning curve , trail and error, I just may be a little smarter after this project. Lol

Will be changing motor and mount for my tv , using a drill motor on a treaded rod takes to much time to rise and makes to much noise.


Changing for a window mount motor and frame , much faster and a lot quieter thus savings on battery reserve.

Placed a micro switch on downward direction so that top of tv countertop will stop exactly flush with rest of counter.

The weather is warmer today so started glueing the felt to alu bubble foil , just hope the wrinkles in felt will not show through Leatherette. If they show I will need ideas to cut them out.

Received baby moon hubcaps today. Had primed my wheels and today painted them.

Today started gluing Leatherette to felt , a lot of work to hide defects. But I will settle with this since this is not my trade, hoping my wife will hide defects with decorations. I am sure that it won’t show that much once completed.

Today is to cold to use glue in trailer, so decided to work inside and build a screen door for Caddy Shack

Today to cold for glue so worked on cutting wood for countertop , used old pallet wood as to giving it a rustic look. Will sand and give it a couple of coats of epoxy clear. Now the tv does not show.

Worked on back counter wall, did not want to place backsplash, so decided to stay with the rustic look. Will have to do some wood tinting, but still have not decided what colour tint.

Today worked on spare enclosure and led tail lighting. Could not find right size red led lights for my spare bumper caddy shack enclosure, so I decided on making them on my own. Here or a couple of pictures.
cut out from old tail lights 2 1/2 x 5 1/2
glued on from exterior.

Glued new 2 white led lights for each side red reflectors
testing led lights, working pretty good.
