SubLime Hotel ... 1973 Boler

We are in the process of restoring a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500, so we decided to restore a 1973 Boler camper trailer to match.

Hunted one down on the side of the highway outside Winnipeg, Manitoba for a great price.

The previous owner had done some modifications prior to us buying it.

The first thing we did was strip the interior.

From there it was time to start working on the cabinets. Filling all the holes from the previous owners modifcations.

Removed the stovetop as we won't be cooking inside the camper, and layed down some tiles for a cutting surface.

While waiting on the cushions to be upholstered, we started to move onto the exterior. The door was warped at the bottom from the heat.

Cut a strip out so we can bend it to the desired shape

Installed some turn buckles to hold the shape until we refiberglass

Screwed in a metal strip which we will fiberglass over

Fun pictures. Looking forward to your future posts.

Any chance you will be done and back to Manitona for the St. Malo gathering Aug 17-19? Or, do we only get to see your work online?

Thanks

Not this year, but maybe next year.
The exterior is only going for paint in September.

Neat work! We've thought about removing our indoor stove, too, but we can't quite pull the trigger on removal in case we have to cook indoors in bad weather.

Will the outside be two-tone green and white?

We were hesitant at first on removing the stove, but figured we can cook under the awning if(when) we get caught out in the rain.

For the paint we're still going back and forth on whether to make it solid green, or keep it true to the look and make it two tone. Any thoughts?

I think you'll want the two-tone (white top) to reflect heat.
I like this!
Picture of the Galaxie 500, please! (Yeah, I'm a car nut!)

EDIT- I went to your link. Great work! Is it finished yet?

Sweet! I painted show cars for a living for 7 years. Got out of it because of the chemicals. (I still do personal jobs)
Nice work!
