Unhappy

but I can't find where I wrote the info down.

Anyone remember what the name of the boler logo font is? Something similiar? Seems like there were a couple versions of the logo......my memory fails me!

I'm making a trailer scrapbook and would like the discriptive writting to match the logo, plus I'm getting ready to start sanding the boler after the first of the year. Yes I will take pictures of the logos and measure them before I start sanding.

Lizbeth - I don't remember the name, but I did pick this image up somewhere... maybe you can use it. Cheers, Alec

Thanks Alec, mine is different than the one you have, so there are at least two. I just tried to clean up a picture of my logo that I found on my computer. It's not great but it's too dark and rainy to shoot another one. The letters aren't so rounded.

Yes - it definetely changed. I have the original decals on my '76, and as you can see, not only was it more rounded, but it lacked the maple leaf and had a obviously contented camper sleeping soundly in the middle of the O. Nice touch! Alec

Here's a pic from the plaque off a Boler American

I think the consensus, is it's hand-drawn font and not commercially available. The best I've been able to come up with is Dax Wide.

But the "L" isn't right and would need some Photoshopping!

I use "Lauren Normal" substituting a "t" for the "l" and then take the top cross off with photoshop.

Well folks I think I can help you out. I redid my front window cover text by tracing the old text onto tracing paper and then transferred it to black Mac Tac. I didn't have red for the maple leaf so I used some of the truck sign vinyl I had leaft over from out llama farm decals. Our company colors were Neon or Lime Green & Black (Arctic Cat)
As far a finding the exact text Boler used I think it was a text style that was only used fon Bolers and not a commeriacl text. I have over 1400 text styles on my computer and there is not one that matches exactly.
Last night I sat down an drew up the 3 styles of text you have shown on this thread in AutoCAD. They are all to scale and all the text is a finished height of 4"
I have converted to AutoCAD drawing into a PDF file so all I have to do is figure out how to post it out so everybody can use it.
If anyone has another style they have found post a photo on this thread and I will add it to the drawing.
I have adde it here, lets see if it works!!!!!!

As a Designer/Draftsman for 50 years, you would not believe some of the things I have been asked to draw up!
I am considering if I should measure up my Boler frame and produce a frabrication drawing so as to build it either out of mild steel or extruded alum.
I don't know how much interest there would be in that!

I'm hoping I won't need a new frame! I'll find out when I pull the egg off of it in the spring. I really feel the need to check it out throughly since so many people have found cracks.

I'm sure if you feel the need to draw it up someone will use it.

Norm: Hmm! That's odd. I am also using Firefox 1.5 and I loaded it and downloaded it with Firefox with no problem. Maybe check your secutiy settings in the Options. You may have the security level set too high. If not you can get my email addy from Donna and then email me and I will forward it. I just found some more Boler text to add to it.

Norm, do you have PDFs set to automatically open in the free Adobe Reader, or is it trying to open in some other program?

At any rate, as per Con, I'm PMing you his e-mail addy.

Yes folks, Firefox 1.5 has been out for awhile now There is an 1.5 RC2 out and a 1.6 beta
which I haven't installed yet. If you want a small simple PDF reader go to www.foxitsoftware.com mad download their free version of Foxit PDF reader 1.3.1231
It si a 1oth of the size of Adobe and isn't so bloated. I hate Adboe programs with a passion.
Anyhow! Find attached the updtaed Logo pdf. made some small revisions to the 1976 text and added the 1976 door decal
Enjoy
