Any Full-Timers in an Escape 5.0?
Greetings,
I'm considering purchasing an Escape 5.0 for full-time living. Does anyone have any experience living in this rig? What were some of the positives and negatives?
Thank you for your input.

You would probably be better off asking that question on the Escape Owners Forum.

I know at least one. She owns a 5.0TA. She's a traveling nurse. Haven't heard from her in a while. Like Carl said, you'd be better off asking over on the EscapeForum.

I just picked mine up on Friday, and one consideration in the back or our mind is to sell our existing home sometime in the near future, storing our household stuff, and hitting the road for a year or two before moving into our final home.
Retirement must come first though.

My 5.0 is my winter home in Florida, if you have any specific questions. All the essentials of living are covered.

Hi Sarah,
We had the earlier 5.0 (single axle) and we lived in it for four months once while traveling. We did fine; it has everything you need, although very compact.
Like a lot of folks here have said about these trailers in general, it is better when you don't spend all your time inside. Get out, go sightseeing, go to the library, go shopping. Then come home and enjoy your cozy home.
One more thing if you plan to stay in Oregon. Most of these trailers are not designed for four seasons. Be very careful about the winter weather.

Jim, just a thought to your house. I've had a few friends sell their houses and move to another state looking for greener pastures. They were advised to rent out their home incase it didn't work out on the new end. It didn't and they moved back but couldn't afford to buy another house "back home". Not the same scenario but, just sayin'.

I already have that other house, and it is rented. I would fully plan on returning to fixing it up to be our retirement home. The full timing is idea would be for a year or two.

Good deal Jim, you didn't say you already had the retirement home, you've got it covered.
