How to seal the front cover on our Trillium?

Folks,
There may be one or two of you out there who discovered that the insides of your Trillium were soaking wet after driving through a downpour. The front jalousie window was never meant to handle a 60mph turbulent wind. The solution is pretty obvious: attach a seal to the cover that mates with the frame of the front window. But finding the right product (presumably a bulb seal) is not that easy. Has anyone got a specific product that they have used to fix this? The separation distance between the inside of the cover and the window frame varies from about 1.5in to 2in. And the cover is fiberglass, so that the surface to which the seal attaches is not ideally smooth.
Thanks,
Bill

The rock guard keeps my Trillium dry in the rain.

What year, and kind of Trillium do you have, (1300, 4500, 5500, Jubilee)?

Dave--it's a 2015 "Sidekick", a Tillium version made in Alabama. It's a 15ft (hitch to rear bumper) trailer. No bathroom, so the front has a jalousie window. The cover (you called it a rock guard) does nothing to stop the water coming in. Currently, there is a big air gap all around the cover due to the top piano hinge and the sliding-brace mechanism. The insides got soaked just a couple weeks ago.

Our 40 year Trillium 4500 with original "rock guard" has kept the front interior bone dry while driving through some very heavy downpours. I did remove and re-seal with butyl tape between the frame and the FG body.

EDIT: I haven't even gotten around to removing and re-sealing the front window. The rock guard keeps water out, whether towing or parked.

Bill, is there any way to attach sides to your cover, and then attach small seals to the new sides?

Alternatively, using the original Trillium design, the top, left and right sides are fastened (and sealed) directly to the camper body. You might consider that approach.

Also, might be helpful to hear from Escape owners on how water is kept out of the front windows on Escape trailers.

I would suggest using automotive bulb style seal. I purchased ours by the foot at an automotive paint supply store. I used a 90 degree bulb style seal on the door of our Scamp. You can “click” on our Avatar which will take you to our albums (click on show all albums) of pictures of Mods to our Scamp. Look at picture 24 showing the door seal.
