Trillium Front Door Window
Hi - I have a door window that needs some addressing - the seal is pulling away from the frame of the window - is this a self repair thing or do I need to take it in to a window shop.
I will include pictures to help you see. Well thought I would but not sure how to do it.
Thanks for looking!

SEAL?
Hello,
It is hard to tell the problem from the photos.
Is the seal you are concerned about between
the aluminum frame and the fiberglass door
or between the glass and the aluminum frame?

Hi Larry,
Thank you for responding. If you click on the exterior window picture it will be a larger view (it is for me anyway) and you will see the two lower corners the rubber seal thingy is coming away from the metal frame - this is all exterior.
You should also be able to see a while silicon-y thing I would be able to pick out with my fingers - it looks like someone has done a quick fix?
Hope this explains things better.

This photo shows an explanation
Here is a better photo I hope - I explained a couple things on it. I do not know how to remove the first image - it is too small. The second one can be read easier.
The issue is between the front glass and frame.

I had the same issue with both my '77 1300 and '79 4500. Like the vinyl insert in the belly band, with time, these shrink. I found out this is a type of spacer to keep the window protected within the frame; the glass is set in and adhered to the aluminum frame. The aluminum frame is set into the door with butyl tape as the other windows should be.
I carefully pulled away about 1/2" from the window and drew a picture of the side view. Took another trip to my local RV store/service company (in Seattle, it's Evergreen RV) and bought a length from the service area. Pulled out the old/brittle/shrunken seal, pushed in the new and it looks beautiful! One of the simplest fixes on the trailer!

Colleen, Thank you! Hopefully I will find this an easy fix. I thought maybe I had to have the window removed or something!!! I will post a picture when I get it fixed . . . . by us.
Why do you think there was silicone there? Is that normal or a quick fix by someone else you think?

Colleen, Would it be possible to get a manufacture and model number of the part that worked for you?

David - Did Colleen write you about the model number for the seal for the front door window? Would love to know.

My seal specs
Considering a bunch of us are looking for the same thing, I thought I would post some pictures and specs.
I measure the profile as ~ 0.500" wide and ~ 0.425" tall.
The profile to a metric ruler
And the seal seated in the window frame, the longer arm spans the glass.

Great idea - thank you for posting pic - hopefully someone will find it soon - I have a neighbour down the road from me who will be taking my trailer for a couple weeks and doing some work on it.

I had the same issue with mine but it had shrunk so much it was 2" inches short... My glass guy tried to find the seal but no luck so day before yesterday I pulled the old one out put in a pot of bleach boiled it for 15 minutes took it out and stretched the dog crap out of it, left it out in the Alabama sun most of the first day and all day yesterday and re-installed it yesterday evening.. turned out to be 1" too long but I kept rubbing it and coaxing it till I got it re-installed and so far looks great... Might shrink in the coming months when it gets cold, thought about gluing it in but thought better of it, would be very hard to get it out if I ever needed too....

Reviving the Trillium door window gasket thread
Hi - Still looking for the gasket, trim, not sure what it should be officially labeled - has anyone had any luck with a supplier, dealer, garage?
We took ours out last night for a good scrub and possible lengthening?
I took a picture of the end of it. Hoping this post will revive some interest.

I am reviving this conversation, hopefully, in that someone has discovered a good replacement. Colleen wrote that she solved her problem and it was simple - would love to hear what that was. Thanks all.

I believe it is Interstate 009-344 as mentioned in this post:
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...als-64812.html
Disclaimer: I have not purchased this seal or tried it. I do have the problem with shrunken window seals on my Boler 1700, but am putting off replacing them. So far, I have started cleaning the window seals and temporarily filling the gaps with color-matched DAP Dynaflex 230 caulk.
Edit: Currently I am pulling the windows, cleaning, sealing and re-installing with a double layer if 1/8" thick butyl tape. Sealing the radius window seals with DAP Dynaflex 230 caulk as a stop-gap measure to stop water intrusion. At some point I will probably replace the seals.
