Hi there doing a little work on our new Bigfoot, finding so many things to fix unfortunately.
Curious if anybody knows what this switch on the windowsill is for? Or what it was originally intended for? I have tried to trace it and aside from ripping the wall panel down, I am a bit befuddled.

wild guess....

you don't provide a year and model...but I'll guess your trailer is a 17G and that's the fridge immediately to the left of the switch.....

the switch looks like it has mounting screws so pull the switch up and check wiring color...then go outside and open up the fridge compartment...

the switch might have someting to do with the fridge...or a least the wires from the switch might have been run through that compartment

I don't know G models well enough to know if the switch is from the factory or if it's an add-on from a previous owner

good luck

It's the front utility light switch, as mszabo said above. Mine looks exactly the same, and is in the same location.

I've told this story before, but will re-tell it one more time for kicks. My old Bigfoot motorhome had a toggle switch like that in the back bedroom. On one of our first trips in it while staying at a nice woodsy campground in Michigan, I got it into my head to solve the mystery of what the switch was for and flipped it over and over and over for a long time and didn't notice a thing in the motorhome changing.

The next morning, our neighbor at the next site over (very politely) let me know that the repeated flashing of the extremely bright outside floodlights on the side of our Bigfoot had made it difficult for him to fall asleep. He was kind enough to actually laugh about it when I apologized profusely and explained why the lights were flashing. Mystery solved!

me too! Years ago a neighbour install a new garage door opener - freaked me out trying to figure out who was opening and closing my garage door - kept looking in the garage every time I heard the door open and no one was in the garage or in the driveway! Wasn't until I went right out into the driveway and saw the neighbour playing with his new door that I realized the why and how come.

Good news is I don't think the newer openers will/can do that.

Had a good laugh at this...Thanks Carol. Also Thanks for that mszabo, it was for the front light. Im gonna tie into that & run some under cab LED puck lights on that well placed rocker switch.
