Yes, Escape does the paperwork and will send you most of it about 3-4 weeks before picking up. You then go to your state's office for paying any tax and getting your plate --- if your state will give it to you. Offices differ sometimes. You can go to one that can do Canadian trailers and another that cannot within the same state. So no telling until that time. Some have temp plates.

Escape has a driver who takes the trailer across the border and you meet him on the U.S. side. He gets any border paperwork needed to give you and he hands over it and the trailer. That way he also gets the paperwork Escape needs to show that you did not owe any Canadian taxes as a U.S. buyer. You are only paying your state whatever is required there.

ETI makes the import into the US about as easy as it gets! Dennis brought Ten Forward over for me. He went through the commercial line at Sumas, I went through the long line. Needlessly to say, he was waiting for me at Bob's Big Boy. He also gave me a last lesson on hooking up (and disconnecting) a 5th wheel... I needed it as I had never towed a 5ver.

That first day, I was exhausted. Too much adrenaline burned in a short period of time. I was totally grateful I had decided to overnight in Lynden!

Escape will deliver the trailer a half hour away in Sumas, Washington - you don't have to do anything to get it across the border if you don't want to.
