a little more progress today....

we wanted a little different take on the two tone. The blue and green tape comes off tomorrow after the second coat.

Thanks for your words of encouragement!

Looks very sharp! Did you roll and tip or spray? Any tips from your experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for your compliments. Here was the process we used.

We rolled and tipped - but to be honest we mostly just rolled. The interlux bright side paint definitely worked well for us. I am not sure if others would work as well. It has a nice hard finish that seems very durable.

We used their primer as well.
We:
1) Scuffed the surface with 60 grit sand paper on an orbital sander.
2) Blew off with an air compressor
3) Hand washed and dried
4) Primed
5) Sanded the primer with an orbital sander and 220 grit paper
6) Repeated steps 2 and 3 (once dry)
7) Applied first coat
8) Wet sanded by hand (using a sponge sanding block) any drips or rough patches with 320 then 400
9) Wet sanded the rest with 1000 (again using a block or a 3M sanding pad)
10) Repeated steps 2 and 3 (once dry)
11) Applied final coat

To this point we haven't decided if we want to wet sand again with 2000-3000 or just be satisfied. I am thinking we should keep going, but Kristin thinks we should know when to quit. It certainly isn't perfect, but it came out nice for a do-it-yourself job that cost us some elbow grease and a couple hundred bucks. Where I filled in the furnace hole turned out well. The window isn't as good, but it certainly is passable.

Looks good!
Thanks for the pointers.
What did you do with the tail lights? I noticed they were taken out in post # 20 above.

the tail lights will be black. Taking two weeks off the project to visit friends, family, and VEGAS!
The plan is to get at it hard as soon as we get back.

Well, back from the trip and back to work on the Boler! This week we tinted the windows, primed and painted the interior, painted the interior pieces, installed the Fantastic Fan, put on new tires and wheel covers and are about to install the flooring..... whew!

and a few more... It's a little rough where the hood vent was, but I think we are going to putting some sort of back splash anyway.
The seam where the old roof vent was is much better. The Fantastic Fan is right over the bed/table now so it should alleviate any concerns of hitting my head since it hangs a little lower than the vent.... still thinking on how to hide the screws.

camping!

ok.. So I didn't do a great job at the end of keeping everyone updated. However, we are one week away from our maiden voyage in the Boler and all I have left to do is the interior wiring (four lights and a water pump). We are headed to South Dakota July 11. Here is a photo of the outside. Interior pics to come in a day or two when I get the wiring completed.
