New Casita owner

Hi everyone, just recently purchased a 16 foot Casita Liberty Deluxe and my wife and I have enjoyed a couple of "shake down" 3 day camping sessions on Brier Island in Nova Scotia. Most things seemed to work just fine except for that stupid extractor hood that obscures all the cooktop (tossed that out)and a strange electrical issue that left us with no 12v power upon arrival until I fiddled with the fridge change over switch? I have certainly gained a wealth of information from the forums and have already swapped out the 13 inch wheels and tires for some 14 inch which just happened to be available. Lots of other mods planned but at the moment we are using it for Mother in Law accommodation

Hello John and welcome to the forum. Best hope the Casita isn't too comfy or you may never get it back. By all means share your mods and your travel stories. We'd love to hear about them. And remember, we like pictures. Take care, Raz

13 inch tires

Hi Randy
Our Casita is 1992 and seems to have a high lift although I think that it has been achieved by adding a spacer between the frame and the axle.

I need to do that sometime- my 2003 did not come with a high-lift axle so it's either wait and change out the axle someday or add spacers. Must have looked funny with a lift and 13" tires!

Now there's some wheelwell room- I can barely get my hand between my wheelwell and my 14" tires when I'm trying to clean in there! Really doesn't look as bad as I thought it would with a highlift and 13" tires....
