82 door seal

Having problems with my door seal... I matched the size and dimensions of the previous seals and got new ones from home Depot. I used a bigger and thicker one on the door, I think the door strip was 1/4 inch thickness by 1inch width and the smaller one went on the frame, but it didn't seal at all. The ones I have tried are just the foam ones so I am curious if I need to use the rubber gasket type...


I have read to use either a scamp door seal or one from a 03 Dodge caravan/town and country.... Anybody tried the new scamp seal with the lip or anything else for the door seal?

Hi Chad, I used an older model pickup truck door seal on my 1982 Burro 13' I cleaned all the old foam seal off from the door, and put the truck door seal on the lip of the camper. It's an easy fix and it seals great!

Did you put the seal on the door or camper itself?

Yes, on the camper, all around the door opening. I cleaned everything off the door, so there is nothing on the door at all.
