Hi,

After much searching I have decided to use my current Surfside rockguard that is on my Trillium. However, I would like to return it to the original condition. The current fiberglass panel is not mounted like the originals and I cannot figure out how they were mounted. My outside and bottom chanels are filled with chunks of plastic and I am not sure if this is what the originals are like.

I would appreciate it if someone could take some pictures of the backside of their Surfside so I can how the panels sat inside the frame and how they were attached.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Booker B
I rebuilt mine. There was a single screw at the bottom of each side. Removal of same allowed the bottom horizontal piece to be rotated enought to slide out the fibreglass. The translucent wavey fibreglass has no mounting; it is only captured by the side channels and the bottom aluminum piece. Be sure you get both pieces oriented the same way, or you will be doing it twice. Check out: Surfside rockguard replacement

Thanks!

Cam, where did you get your panels? I just stopped at Home Despot and all they have are PVC panels, no fiberglass ones.

Cheers,
Booker

We have a 1979 Trillium 4500. the front rock guard was in terrible condition. We removed and disassembled the guard, took the center panel to a detail shop, had 'trillium' and the logo redone on the reverse side of the panel, then reversed the 2 side panels after scrubbing the weathered sides...the original 'trillium' and logo easily scrubbed off. Then reassembled the entire rock guard and reinstalled on the front window. The whole thing looks like it just came off the factory floor.
