I have a '77 Trillium. I have just repainted the interior. I removed the pop out seams between the ensolite and hate to put them back because they had shrunk and are brown. I don't even know what to call them, to look for new ones. They are like vinyl tape with a ridge in the middle of the back that snaps into metal guides between the ensolite.
Can anyone help me with this. I'd love to get some white (clean looking) replacement.
Thanks,

Could it be T-molding?
Link to possible T-molding source.

I have read that this molding is very hard to find, so if you do turn it up it would be great if you could post back.
On the other hand, I believe you can easily get the molding back to its original length (although that probably won't change the color). What you do is loosely coil it into a large pan of water and boil it (I think I read to boil it for a few minutes...?). Then remove it from the pan and lay it out long and flat to dry (such as in a hallway on the floor). After that it should be back to original size and shouldn't shrink again (or at least for a long time).

I think the 9/16 Nintendo sized molding is the one needed. I will investigate in daylight, as I need some, too. Does it just snap into place?

The prior owner of my trialer purchased it at a hardware store. It is the same stuff they use as an edge on tables and stuff, it is slightly narower than the 70's stuff, but if you replace it all, it won't matter. It simply snaps into place.

I sent away for a sample from the T-molding.com people. The stem of the T is too long, but it can be trimmed to the right length. I am going to try it, although it is going to be a fiddly project. None of the hardware stores around us had even heard of t-molding.

Boiling pop out seams and painting interior ?
Brian Gibbons, Does it really work to boil the seams? I am terrified to take them out fearing I will not be able to get them back in...Can the inside be painted? If so with what. Is there a cleaner that will do a good job? thanks,Sherry

Sherry, Boiling does indeed work. The material is vinyl. So any paint rated for use on vinyl should work.
Getting them back in is not too difficult. A rubber mallet helps. A blow dryer for heat should help form some of the tighter bends.

That is a pretty old post , but being new to this forum I'll post my experience anyway in case someone out there is interested . I have revamped 2 oldies over the years and found that one can actually put those seam covers from old Trilliums and Bolers into boiling water - they soften right up , are scrubbable and then can be refitted back ( they will be slightly longer again -but over time will shrink back - can repeat -not hard ) alternately fabric stores have many different hot glue-able trims .

Instead of boiling I just heated it up with a heat gun. It stretched a bit and was soft enough to conform to curves where necessary and straightened out where it had formed bends where I didn't want. A low setting works best as you can melt the stuff.Don't ask how I know.

i ordered mine from t-molding.com i think it was 3/4 inch in white. If i remember right i may have had to trim it slightly with an olfa blade to fit in the track, but it wasn't anything major.
