1981 Burro in my future?

Thinking seriously of purchasing friend of a friend's burro. Have never used a camper before but seems to be a more comfortable way to camp as one ages. . .and more free time is on the horizon as retirement approaches. Any advice on assessing the condition of this burro would be appreciated. Thanks, Jan
