My concern isn't UV, it's snow load. I was gonna buy a steel carport to park our ParkLiner under, but the zoning people in our town are truly off their rocker, so I said heck with that, let's get a cover. I'm gonna call these Calmark folks, but I don't think Sunbrella is what we need.

When we get a cover, I'll probably just push the snow off of her with a push broom. I do that already even though a car port would be nice!

I ordered the $130 eBay cover about 3 weeks ago. It showed up within a few days, but it's been raining/snowing every day since then. I'll put the cover on as soon as it clears for a day or two. The eBay seller says it has a 10-year guarantee --- I'll let y'all know if they live up to their word (don't stay up late waitin')

My eBay cover lasted 2 years in Wisconsin. And that's even with it being stored inside a barn both winters out of the weather. The cover is completely disintegrating into powder each time we put it on and off.
For how cheap it was, 2 years is what I figured I'd get and we weren't sure about the scamp long term.
I'm now ordering a Calmark w/ sunbrella and I figure in my climate, I'll be good for another decade with it. I had sunbrella as a sail cover on a boat and it wore like iron.

I was about to inquire about a storage cover for the Scamp. Appreciated all your good notes, especially the Wisconsin reference where I will park our Scamp outdoors. Ordered a Calmark cover last night.

Good for you folks. I'm just waiting to hear back from Calmark as to whether the dimension sheet I sent yesterday morning and all the pics are going to be sufficient to get one made for our 2012 ParkLiner. It's almost noon here on the right coast, so hopefully they will be open soon and get back to me.

For $500 I'd look into buying one of those metal "parking" sheds. Then you can just park the trailer under it all year with no real hassle like installing the cover and tying it down.

For a 9' high 12' w, 16' long metal carport (which is the height I need to park the ParkLiner under, it's $1100 AFTER I get a permit, which will cost me more &, lots of time and a major hassle.

Adco makes a sunbrella cover (Camping World) that is $100 cheaper than Calmark although I have not read of anyone's experience with it. Free shipping for Sam's club members, I believe. Anyone know anything about that one? I just got a used 2013 13 ft Scamp (yay!) and need to figure out the cover situation too.

Let me throw out one more option. After having bad luck with the unreliable EBay supplier, I did quite a bit of looking around for the cover for my Uhaul 13 which is the approximate size as the Scamp. I came across another alternative from Beverly Bay. For under $200, this horse trailer cover fits well and even has a zipper in the correct spot for the door. Looks to be of good quality and comes with a nice storage bag.

Thanks for reminding me of Beverly Bay -- I think that looks like a pretty good option when Calmark is a little too expensive. Now the only question is whether we should get teh 14'-16' or the 16'-18' since she's 16' long. Has anyone used one of these or something like it in the past?

Casita Shelter
I purchased a 20' by 10' tarp shed from Tractor Supply made by ShelterLogic. It cost $125. but I have seen them for around $100. The height of the kit was too low for my Casita. I found that the light metal poles would fit neatly into 1 1/4" PVC pipe. After setting up the shelter, I dug 2' holes at each pole site, inserted the shelter poles into the 5' PVC pipes, and secured them in the ground with concrete. I then raised each pole to the desired height, drilled 1/4" holes through the PVC pipe and the inserted pole, and secured it with bolts and nuts. I covered the seam with white duct tape to keep water from seeping into the PVC pipe. This has worked great for me in our NC climate. I do have to knock off the snow or ice in the winter and use a soap/bleach wash on the mildew in the summer on the tarp top. But it beat the $500. price of a cover or the $900. price of a shed.

We just ordered our custom adco sunbrella cover from camping world. Came to $475 for the 13 foot scamp size. Cheaper than calmark, and has a 5 yr warranty. I haven't seen any reviews for the sunbrella ones, but I've heard good things about the other adco covers.

Calmark is the best but expensive - a little over $500 for a Scamp 13 plus shipping. If you can afford it - get it. They have a 6 year warranty and provide great customer service.

Thought I'd share of our Scamp covered by Calmark and secluded in the driveway awaiting late Feb when we head to Montana via Slidell, LA, Phoenix, and north.

...My winter proof cover for 1300Trailer with make-shift frame attached. Cost is 80Can$ in Princess Auto(20'x30'). When the wind blows, it will help to get rid of snow pile up on roof. It worked well so far....
