Parts have been coming in:
  • Renogy 50w Solar Panel for the Roof
  • PD4045KV Power Center
  • Fantastic Fan
  • LED Clearance Lights
  • Center LED Brake/Turn Light
  • THHN Wiring for Exterior
  • Reflectix Insulation
  • Fiberglass supplies

I have been able to patch most of the exterior holes w/fiberglass, install the fantastic fan, start insulating, and pull all new exterior lighting wires.

Slowly but surely - things are starting to come together.

Been progressing nicely!
  • Installed LED Clearance lights
  • Installed Brake/Turn LED bar above rear window
  • Pulled majority of 12v wiring (lights and fan)
  • Cut out and mounted PD-4045
  • Wired and Tested Fantastic Fan (WE HAVE POWER!)

Waiting for more supplies to arrive:
  • LED Light Fixtures
  • Solar Mounting Kit
  • Bogart Trimetric SC-2030 & TC-2030 (Solar Charger + Battery Monitor)
  • Terminal Blocks for 12v Wiring + Cable Management

Will spend the next day or two working on some more fiberglass repair while I wait for more parts to arrive.

Christopher, thank you again for sharing all your hard work with us. I like the location of the PD-4045 because you can get to it if needed and you are using otherwise wasted space. Good job.

Thanks! I left a bit of space so I can install the Trimetric 2030 Battery monitor in the old battery monitor space, as well as propane line access for my furnace. Its really astonishing how much space is there!

Beautiful job on the wiring, it is looking very good.

But add a few tie wraps. One goes within a few inches of the start or ending of a bundle of wires, and then every 6 inches or so inches along the length of the bundle and also at any break outs from the bundle that go off to the different fixtures.

Sorry can't help it, I used to work at Boeing creating wire bundles and also worked inside the planes with them and had to know how these things are done. The tie wraps help reduce the strain on the individual wires and prevent accidental snagging of loose wires. Rubber nails are used to fill in any slack inside of P clamps so that the wires can't be pulled around in them. A piece of rubber screen spline can be used or some such soft object that fills up the space so there is no movement within the P clamp.

I wire brushed the frame... no holes were found so no welding necessary. Then I used POR15 and Black gloss rustoleum and brushed it on (2 coats) It has been 3 years and looks great.

For the carriage bolt replacements I didn't use rubber washers but instead used metal ones to distribute the pressure evenly. If you noticed the beautiful hour glass shape the old ones took on after rattling around in those holes.
