I think it's just really oxidized dark grey. It's got some shine on the lower edges.

That will buff out nicely. Is the material in good shape? Fridge stove sink pump heater? You found a gem.

Nope- but I do have a nearby transfer station I could take it to to get the weight. I will be towing it with a 9000 lb towing capacity Toyota, so I think I'll be well under the weight.

Anne, congrats! Your trailer is in great shape. I'm in the Portland area. Would love to see yours sometime as mine is a full repair job. I've not had a chance to start on it yet but it'll be my winter project.

new 1985 MITY LITE discovered!

Too good to pass up, but it is going to be a project cleaning it out and figuring out what it needs--I do like a project! Since I already have one of these(and another bigger 19ft trailer), I'm not exactly sure what is going to happen with it--I just couldn't try to save it. I'll try to post photos later today or tomorrow. It has a top with no hinge and it raises up on two ropes. I haven't totally checked it out and won't have a chance until Monday.
It is an interesting story. Someone had posted comments about an ad that one member had put up when he was thinking about selling his trailer. This man named Scott wrote that he drives by one with a for sale sign(I think he is a delivery driver). Then when I messaged him to see if he could get the number and a couple weeks later, he said it was gone. We crossed our fingers that maybe the person was just out camping and we got lucky and that's what happened! He sent me photos and as soon as I got the call I drove out to a little neighborhood in a small town outside Shelton WA(where they were made). I got a decent(not great) deal and I hope to eventually get it fixed up and back on the road.

1984 mity lite

I too just found a Spacemaster and am in the process of restoring it

May need to find another one so I can compare some of the details when reassembling.

I am up north by Everett
Could we meet up sometime

congrats!

Cool to see your new trailer-- There is another person and I that have put lots of photos on our facebook page. You should join and share what you have. I can even start an album with the photos you just posted.

I am in Bellevue and would be happy to show you my two- one is a work in progress. I am reinforcing a soft part of the floor under what was a the bench.

I found replacing the entire floor was easy it only required a 4X 8ft 6" sheet of plywood and Dunn sells 9ft sheets and the interior is pretty easy to remove

Just a thought

Matching tow vehicle?

A Brubaker Box would be a perfect tow vehicle. It looks a lot like the Mity Lite!
