Replacing electrical pigtail on Bonair Oxygen

I have a 7-pin connector cable (supporting battery recharging and a brake controller) from my tow vehicle to my Bonair Oxygen via a proprietory 8-pin connector. I've been looking around for a replacement cable that has this proprietory 8-pin connection and found:
  1. RV Pigtails, Inc. 40025 RV Pigtails 7-Way Pigtails for Fold Down & Pop-Up Campers - Starcraft
  2. RV Pigtails, Inc. 40065 RV Pigtails 7-Way Pigtails For Fold Down & Pop-Up Campers - Palomino
I assume the difference between these cables is how they are wired internally. (Maybe they are the same...)

Short of tearing apart the home made cable that I inherited with the trailer and determining the correct wiring, does anyone know (preferably an Oxygen owner) if either of these is a direct and functioning replacement? If no one knows, is there any potential harm to my trailer's electrical system in trying one to see if the proper lights and brake controller work?

Thank you.

Wish I had an answer for you but have never had mine apart. I have the 7 pin and it matches perfectly with my truck 7 pin. There are a number of 7 pin electrical diagrams on line.

Do you know what the eighth pin is for? I suspect it is not necessary for your trailer and changing to a 7 pin and following the standard RV color codes will work well.
