They were plenty long enough (80") before.

But the stock 24" cushions were not near wide enough for most to sleep comfortably.

30" is an acceptable minimum for me but since we got our LD a week before Casita announced this new model, we'll have to do the mod like everyone before us if we want to do the twins.

We're going to see if we can put up with one of climbing over the other if we just keep it as a king bed. Might just stay with that instead.

I accidentally turned ours on with my big butt while the delivery driver was giving us the walk-through. Took us a minute of two to figure out was that constant humming sound was. 8^)

From the picture of the beds, it looks like there is a notch on the inside edge to put a board (2 table tops?) to make one wide bed rather than twins. Is that how you see it?

I wondered how the double bed worked, too - but I think this pic from threadpage one answers the question:
Evidently the two swiveling table tops are narrow enough to fill that gap when "lengthwise"

They've always had the notch so the table tips could sit down on them to make the bigger bed. But the wider bases well provide more storage space now as well.

The wider base makes it look harder to lean back on that cushion as you sit there.
