I was reading about that. I may give it a try. It hasn't leaked since the one bad storm.

I FINALLY started loading the Scamp for my weekend trip! I'm so excited I just might sleep in it in my driveway tonight! Here are some interior pictures. (Just pretend the walls are done and the curtains are hung :-). Click image for larger version

Here's my screen door. I'm really quite amazed at how well it works. I guess we'll have to let the bugs have a go this weekend. Click image for larger version

I *love* the "skirts" - did you make those yourself?

The birds were chirping as I awoke from my slumber on my extremely comfortable mattress in my "new" Scamp...no matter that I was in my own driveway. I did make the bed and seat skirts myself. I haven't sewed for years but it all came back to me when I dug out the machine. I'll never be a great seamstress but I can get the job done.

I am game to try it on any leaks I have.
I broke down and used some of that on top of my Scamp. I had a very little bit of water coming in around the escape hatch/roof vent and the TV antenna feed wire. During my initial scrub-down I washed or peeled off seemingly hundreds of little blobs of caulk a previous owner had applied to every rivet on top and some on the sides of my Scamp. I wanted something with a little "flow" or “creep”to it to get around the rivets holding the roof hatch in and figured the screen door boat stuff would do the trick. I have only had one really good rain on the Scamp since then but saw no leaks so I think it worked. Of course it is not a really correct fix, but it sure beat all the work “to do it right”.

Back from our maiden voyage! Smooth sailing with the Scamp and a fun weekend too. Most of our trips this summer will be limited to long weekends, this one included. It was nice to see the Scamp parked somewhere other than my driveway or the shop! Here are a few pictures from our trip. (We attended a Celtic Music Festival. I've included a few authentic photos as evidence.) We still have a few things to finish on the inside. I'm not sure if we'll get it done before our next adventure in two weeks to a Bluegrass Festival with an Escapees group. Click image for larger version

My scamp is going to be camping out with other vintage campers at the Carlisle Sports & Outdoor Show from Sept 5-7. I put some before, during and after photos together for a display. I thought you might like to see the transformation in one condensed post. (The walls still aren't done yet. I'm hoping to get that done this fall.)

I'm thrilled to finally add the next chapter to this story. The walls are done! We used headliner (from perfectfit.com) over the reflectix. Here are a few pictures. I'm so relieved to have this daunting task finished! Click image for larger version

Curtains! It was not a simple task since we removed all the previous rods and rivets with the remodel. I attached a light cafe rod to the window with "magic hooks". They have thousands of suction cups and can hold up to 10 pounds each. The curtain hung below the top of the window so I made a header that is Velcro-ed to the gasket around window. The header has a front and back so it looks nice on the outside as well. Here are a few pictures. If anyone is interested in more details, just ask. Magic hooks and industrial strength adhesive Velcro are definitely at the top of my list for utility. Click image for larger version

What adhesive did you use for the hull liner fabric? And how is it holding up?

We used a 3M headliner adhesive. No troubles with it holding so far. Here's a picture of the spray can. I'd also highly recommend getting the cleaner to remove overspray. (Just don't let the adhesive or cleaner get on the plexiglass windows - lesson learned the hard way!). Click image for larger version

We watched this video before starting the job. It gave us some good hints (and the courage to get started!).
