Egg Yolk made easy....
The package arrived this week, in a 10' long plastic tube which protected the egg yolk.

I measured twice, actually 7 times and marked my holes. I had to wait until the weather cooperated. Finally I got the courage to start drilling.

Since there are 2-3 fiberglass shells to deal with, the kit included multiple SS screws of various lengths. Some places you need to attach more than one nut to avoid cracking the fiberglass interior as you tighten. Detailed instructions were included with photos.

The installation included an awning rail and an "L" bracket that fits on top of awning rail and gives it extra support. This also creates a 1/8" gap all along the rear which allows caulking to be applied. There is buytl tape behind the rails and I put pipe dope on each screw. So water would have to penetrate 3 separate applications, hopefully not.

The final product, egg yolk awning on my Egg Camper. Everything is stainless steel, the kit is made by a boat/marine supplier under contract with Jim Palmer/Egg Camper.

I'd love one for our Egg Camper (my wife calls it our Easter Egg) but you've got more courage than I'd have for drilling into the trailer. We're gonna settle for a screen room (free standing).

Wow! That so fits! I've never seen a yellow awning before.
You just need a "Bacon" Patio Mat...

I've drilled a lot of holes in a lot of antique & classic cars and that first one is always the toughest. Still gives me the willies. Good job.

Jim -
Could you take it a bit further...

Looks to be simple design and straight forward install. Thanks for the post.

The awning and uprights all store in a travel bag, inside the trailer. Weight is less than 4lbs. There is a 10' pole that travels attached to the outside awning rail. This is the piece that slides in the awning and to which the uprights are then attached. I carry this piece inside as I did not wish to drill 2 more holes to secure this piece. Altogether there are 5 pieces, awning, long rail, 2 adjustable uprights and a stretcher bar in the middle. You slide the awning into the awning rail on the camper, slide the 10' pole in the sewn pocket, attach the 2 uprights, install the stretcher, done. Maybe 3-4 minutes.
Cost was $500 shipped to your door, install time about an hour. Any further info you will have to contact Jim Palmer. He did say the yellow is selling 10 to one over the other colors.
