Boler 17 Restoration Project

Hi Everyone,

We bought last November a Boler 17 1979. We were thinking during the winter that new seat covers and fresh paint on the ensolite will be our ticket to a great camping season....

Now, May 1st 2014. We have started a full restoration due to repairs needed after a deeper inspection this spring. Our first camping season with the Boler will be next year or this fall at best...with a bigger price tag on the ticket.

This site has been very helpful for us already. We want to take this opportunity to share our restoration project.

Marie & Eric

My first project after tearing it down was the floor. I have noticed some soft spots in the back on my trailer. I was planning to replace only few sections of the floor but then quickly realised that replacing a full section will be more solid and simple to install. The best tool for that job is an oscillating tool with a plungecut blade to separate the old plywood with the fiberglass underneath and from the shell. I did start using a router a cut bit to remove only a section of the floor. The floor is not done yet...
