I just thought id share my idea. I had an old power supply that i took out from a desktop computer. There are 4 different outputs on it. 12V 7.5A, 12V .3A, 5V 3A and 5V .2A. I opened it, cancelled all the outputs except for the 12V 7.5A and installed it in my Boler to run the lights, fan, and radio. So far it works great. Of course the fan is always running on it but ill install a switch to go from the converter to the battery at night when i only have to use a light or 2. I wont use it to charge the battery, as that will be done from a solar panel or when im on the road. Ill update next summer when im done restorating Porto II.

Now for a killer power supply, I have been using a HP DPS-1200FB which is a small server power supply that puts out a whopping 75 amps at 12vdc(can be adjusted up to around 13.8 volts). I use it to power my LiPo battery chargers for my RC plane batteries. These supplies are designed to run 24/7 for years. All it takes to get them running is a 500ohm to 1k ohm resistor( this can be used to switch on/off with a single pole switch)
