2007 Oliver Legacy Elite with Solar $37,500

Hi all,

We are selling our beloved Oliver Trailer. We really love it but the trailer is just too small for our now family of five. It isn't getting the use it should be and we just don't feel good about that. We'd love to see our trailer go to a new home where it will be loved, appreciated and used as it should be.

Here is a link with photos and details:

17′ Oliver Travel Trailer For Sale – Legacy Elite / Solar Powered | Technomadia

And a link to a YouTube video we made showing it off:

Oliver Travel Trailer For Sale - Solar Powered Fiberglass Egg - YouTube

Thank you,

Lisa

Am I understanding this correctly, 5 years old 17 footer for 37,500?

George,

It's a 2007, 17 foot model Oliver. These trailers were built to last beyond your grandchildren's, grandchildren's lifetime. The construction is dual-hull gel coated fiberglass, the frame is all aluminum so no rust. This is not a typical fiberglass "egg". The link I provided goes into much more detail about the trailer. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yes I'd say this Oliver is a "keeper". There appears to be some disparity in the listing regarding year of manufacture? Video says 07. Here 05. Is the video of the unit for sale or of a similar unit?

Yikes that's a typo. It's a 2007 and the video is of our Oliver. I will get that fixed. Thank you so much for pointing that out and now I understand the confusion! My apologies.

Nice Trailer BUT, IOHO, NOT worth 3 times a Casita.
It is priced in Airstream territory and you can't even get into the WBCCI with one.
Not much wonder the Oliver brothers ran out of customers after 45 sales.

A Oliver isn't a Casita! Two totally different trailers! Guess you gotta see an Oliver before you could understand. As well as the add on's!

Bugz, Good luck with your sale. The perfect buyer will come along and know the difference......

Even Airstreams will take a 20-30% hit on used resale values. Why not Oliver's? At least you can still get parts for Airstreams, not from Oliver.

Actually you can still get parts and service from Oliver. They are one of the most wonderful companies I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. That's just an added bonus that comes with the trailer.

I almost bought Oliver in 2008 but got Bigfoot instead. Price was higher then Bigfoot but still within the high $30K bracket. I liked a lot the side to side leveling capability with electric jacks. During the recent sale of my trailer I believe seeing an Oliver in Arizona for around $28K. Good luck in your sale, Comparable 2008 Airstream 16’ Bambi sells used around $21K. I hope someone will appreciate Oliver’s quality.

To me, this trailer wouldn't be worth 7.5X what I paid for mine but then I'm not worth 7.5X what I paid for mine. Market value only has meaning for those who can hardly imagine being in the market. If you have to ask; have to think twice; have to turn out your pockets . . . ? They [nebulous plural] used to say that you could get 90% of everything available in a racing bike for 8C$. For 25C you got a 2 oz. lighter gear train and an extra half pound of paint. But I'd love to have those jacks.

I don't really think there exists a comparable Airstream or any other trailer for that matter. The Oliver is a trailer you can drag anywhere, over rough dirt roads, through streams and it's built for weather extremes. We have an Airstream and there is no way we would even consider taking it the places we have taken our Oliver. Rivets would be popping all over the place. The solar we have added allows for boondocking without a generator. We stayed in it for 8 days without one and could have stayed indefinitely. As you can tell, we love this trailer but it's just too small for the five of us.

I'm curious about the Oliver's spec's? Does Oliver include the tongue length in it's 17' specs? The layout seems larger than a 14' trailer!

On the surface an Oliver Legacy Elite and a Casita Spirit Deluxe appear to be the same trailer. It is what you cannot see on the surface that makes the Oliver more expensive. Methods of construction and attention to detail are the difference; Custom build vs. Mass market. In the same way that people react to the expense of Molded Fiberglass vs. Conventional wood frame with aluminum skin joined with staples, people react to double molded shells joined with adhesive vs. single molded shell joined with rivets.

cpaharley2008, the 17' tongue length is included but that is with the shortest adjustment of the adjustable tongue. I'm not exactly sure how far it extends. I'd say a foot or so.

George, ours does not have the double glazed windows. We had inquired about changing them out but only three of the six can be double glazed regardless. The bathroom, door and emergency egress window in the back would not have been double glazed. We decided to pass on having this done since we haven't had issue with uncomfortable temps with the standard windows. We live in Lake Havasu where it is routinely 115-120 degrees in the summer and have no problem keeping it cool. I attribute this to the double hull and insulation along with the really nice day/night shades. Whoever invented those is a genius.

Are the tanks enclosed and heated like the Airstream's?
