Fixing up the '75 Trillium 1300

Though I do agree, that creamy colour (colonial white) is not yellow either, though it does have a touch of yellow in it.

I would call it yellow, but it is a pale yellow. I would not associate it with white. It is similar to the colour of butter. Cloverdale paint does not help as they call it "Cash", though it was in their yellow section. Wonder who came up with all the names. The other is definitely bright and I, like Jim, would call it orange.

Orangy yellow, yellowy orange, what ever. I really like this combo. I have the Yellow, (orange?) interior on my 1972 Cantaloupe, but they painted it peach.

But with a Colonial white exterior, I think it looks awesome. Too bad it is so rare.

Yeah, that orange interior is definitely my favourite. Such a warm, inviting colour.

Are you going to sand it back to the original gelcoat in yours, Dave? Lots of work, but might well be worth it.

That would likely be best. If a test in a spot like under where a cushion goes works fine, it would sure beat sanding.

Anyone know what's behind the kitchen backsplash?? I'm wanting to put up some towel like rods to hang stuff on (3-4lbs) but I don't know if it will hold.

Update:
So last night I entered the hate phase of my love hate relationship with my Trillium. I had bought some storage/decor items from Ikea that I love and was excited as all git to get them into the trailer. Well, hubby burst my bubble! "Nope, can't do it, they're too heavy etc etc etc blah blah blah"
I got super frustrated, down in the dumps and wandered around Canadian Tire quietly sobbing in desperation for a way to adhere by beautiful hanging buckets to the backsplash. Nothing! Nothing seemed like it would work. I reached out to all my glass egg networks for solutions and they responded in kind.
Well this morning I woke up and said "screw it!" I mounted the bars just as the instructions said to. Used some Velcro to help hold it on and voila! And if it doesn't work... Meh, I'll be filling some holes I guess.





Also got the front gaucho installed

Oh haha, I had quiet the dream last night and I felt I needed to share it. The Trilly was all done and the weather was beautiful. Off camping we went When we arrived at our destination, parked and began setting up something seemed a miss in Trilly . Then I realized what it was... The nice warm weather had caused the ensolite to peel away from the fiberglass shell. Great big billows of ensolite everywhere!! It caused such a concern that when I woke up I called my boyfriend to check on my lil trilly... No billowing ensolite... whew
Anyone else have Trilly nightmares? lol

Update:
Almost there! Leak tested on Sunday and everything stayed dry on the inside.. Yay! hopefully this will be the case in a torrential down pour. We will be travelling with a tarp and tie downs just in case. I don't have the ability to pull the windows out right now because the trailer is in a less desirable neighbourhood and if we didn't get it done in one day I would have to sit watch all night lol. So the windows will be done over the winter when I have it out at a family members farm in the quonset nice and safe.
On the list to do yet is the door. This will be a project and a half. Really all it needs is the screws tightened and it would sit perfectly but the dumbass PO bolted the top hing in through the fiberglass shell. These bolts are now rusted and i'm afraid if I try to tighten them they're going to snap off. So we are trying to problem solve this without having to do any fiberglass work, although that might not be possible. This may also have to wait until the winter.



Need new trim around the door so it closes tight at the bottom as the weather stripping (?) is missing.
New table top is a must and the new folding leg I got from Lee Valley needs to be cut down a bit so the table is level.
Curtains... I finally after 3 attempts made nice new curtains that now just need to be hung.
Storage solutions for the closet. I want to put a couple shelves in.
Cabinet doors and hardware
Reattach the rock guard to the front window
And last but not least.. Giver a good bath on the outside

Lyndsay, the trailer is looking good.
Curtains/shades can be a real pain. Here is a link you might find useful for future roman Shades. I used this method and was very happy with the finished product.
Our trailer came with metal blinds and every time we hit them in the night we woke each other up, so we changed them to cloth. We have shelves above our windows so the blinds are mounted to the underside of them. I also mounted cleats to the upper side of the window frame to hook the cord on so that it is not hanging in the way. Then I purchased some powerful little 1/4 inch magnets (home hardware) that I glued (epoxy) to the corners of the window frame and then purchased magnets in individual plastic pockets from Fabricland, that I sewed into the hem of the blind, so that when they are closed the bottom of the blind "sticks" to the frame and helps keep the light out.

This is the tape I used instead of sewing on rings, there is a loop tape across the top and then across the bottom is a pocket to slide a dowel into to help keep them straight.

Where do you/did you have leaks? We currently have two.....

One is from the top of the rear passenger side window. As soon as feasible, we'll try to pull it out enough to put new butyl tape there...

I can't find the source of the other leak, which is on the passenger side to the front of the door (our future dinette). There's at least one loose rivet on the roof, so that's an obvious possibility, but it's not dripping straight down; I had toilet paper and newspaper all over the ceiling to see if I could see if it was dripping, but apparently it's coming in somewhere and running under the insulation. I pulled back some of the insulation and it's also possible that there's a leak around the top hinge on the door (which looks very much like your hinge...) It felt slightly damp around the top screws/bolts inside, so dunno.

We have fabric to put on the walls, but obviously we won't put that up until we make sure it's leak proof! We also need to put new seals around the doors. (Not overwhelmed yet, but there's so much to do and we want to use it ASAP!!)

That is a great looking trailer, and love that backsplash!! I think that will travel just fine if you take the baskets off. I do the same thing for items I have up behind my sink. GREAT JOB!!

Had two leaks either side of the front window and one leak on the passenger side rear window. We used a waterproof silicone sealant and went around both windows with it. I know I know sillycone bad... but it's all I can do until I can pull the windows and replace the wood next year. You can tell from looking at ours that the wood around the windows is rotted and when wet it got quite water logged.. when I did the leak test the wood stayed perfectly dry.

Thanks Pam! the plan is to take all the baskets off when travelling.. Can't wait to get out in her.
Now to find an awning.. any suggestions for something that won't break my pocket book and that I don't have to make myself?

One thing you could do Lyndsay, is to just do one window at a time. This would allow you to get it done in a couple hours, unless you had to replace the wood backer too.

And no problem regarding the template. I hope it can help others too.
