Amerigo F-16 Refrigerator

I am restoring a F16 and the only problem I am having is in front of the Flint ignitor there is a small pin with a spring and a missing screw it is threaded and I am not sure of the function any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no Amerigo F-16 Refrigerator refirgerator. Amerigo didn't build a refrigerator... just like ALL the all molded towable manufacturers.

Tell us the brand and model of your refrigerator and we may be able to help you.

It may be an early Dometic, much like I have in my Hunter. It sounds like you are fooling with the flint spark lighter that's built in and operated with a little knob inside the refrigerator.

As far as I could find the flint is an odd size and is no longer available. My solution was to drill a 3/8" hole near the burner for lighting with a BBQ lighter and I made a cover that covers the hole after it lights. You will also have to figure our how to hold the pilot safety switch ON while lighting it.

Did you try it on electric to be sure it works..... BTW: You may have to hold the pilot safety valve ON for a long time to wait for fuel to get to the burner.

If it's any help, I turn on a stove burner and wait for it to light. When it lights, I know that the propane is at least a little closer to the fridge.

In those refrigerators the gas is right at the valve when you turn it on.

It just takes a long time to get through the pilot safety valve and about 8" of tube to the jet. What was there last time vents out when it's off.

Sorry, I was talking about when I've had the gas shut off at the tanks for a while. I open the tanks, then light a stove burner, when it lights I figure the gas should be at the fridge.

The refrigerator is a Dometic and it is part of the flint roller assembly and is right in front of it if your looking inside the housing. It has a small pin that is pushed up and has a small return spring and what looks to be a cap screw that holds the spring in which is the part that is missing. I am not quite sure of its function. Thanks for all the responses I believe it would be far easier to just light it.

The part that's missing is the flint..... it was a consumable that is no longer available.
