I got my Casita 17SD

Just got home from North Dakota with our 98 Casita 17 spirit deluxe. We had a great time meeting Gene Masse and his wife Nancy. Had a h#$%^ of a time driving home to Edmonton with high winds which played havoc with the gas mileage. Just south of Minot , a roof was blown off a building just before we got there.

I will post up some pictures and will start some renos over the next few days. Looking forward to camping with it this summer(its ready to go now but I want to get some its weight off with new cabinet doors and removing the AC and maybe the awning) I have a Dometic Cabana which I will use for an awning.

Here is my new to me Casita. The fun is just beginning, picking up wood for the cabinet doors tomorrow. Will get the same type of pine doors as my ventura got. Then a good real good scrub and polyglow. A little bit at a time so we can still use it.

The fantastic fan has been cleaned and painted and is back in. The venetian blinds have been removed and the wife is making curtains.

The mirror has to go, hate looking at that old fart first thing in the morning.

well the trailer has been cleaned, replaced the 2 shelves over the fridge due to water damage. Replaced just about every pop rivit and caps. Pulled off the AC unit and installed new second vent. Took off the sun baked decals. Replaced the angled covers between the seats with plywood with white formica. Nancy made up some new curtains and will be making some tie backs for them and I will be making pine valances to cover the old blind bar. Flushed the water system.

More to come!
