As an already top tier camping fee state especially for non residents it would be Ill advised to attempt to make up lost revenue by raising the fees even higher. Here’s a novel idea, lower the fees and encourage more folks to camp. Start with a free camping mid week like a Monday- Wednesday once they reopen and school is out. Give every camping family some free string cheese if they all have a fishing license too. Keep the creameries afloat.

Over the past 7 or 8 years we have witnessed the slow but sure destruction of the Wisconsin State Park system and now covid 19 is hastening its final demise
Thank God that Iowa is not that far away and that Iowans can see beyond the end of their nose.

Camping is one of THE best ways to enjoy life, while practicing virtue signalling, now called "social distancing" This decision to close campgrounds is madness.

So, you are smarter than the world's leaders, medical community and scientists?

You can't practice social distancing when you have a thousand kids running all over, hanging out in groups, running through your campsites, etc. Parents no longer parent and they think going camping is to let kids run all over doing whatever they want to without supervision. Closing campgrounds is smart right now. Yes it hurts those adults that would stay in their own campsites but if you use the bathrooms that is a germy place.
I agree that Wisconsin is one of the worst places for out of state people. We used to go there when our daughter lived there and once to a state park with the RV for the day cost almost as much as camping in others. Never went again. When a state charges more for out of state people then I assume they don't want my money in that state and I leave as quick as I can. I no longer stay and have fun there.
