1962 Price is Right camper

I found this on another forum site, T&TTT, up for bid on the TV show Price is Right, on January 1 , 1962, a fiberglass camper that opens like a clamshell. Price was about $2500 . Didn't, catch the name of the trailer. It's the second item up for bid. Not sure how to access the show, maybe it's YouTube , I used the link on the other site. The cigarette ads are funny to watch too. Bob

Oh, that is adorable! Here's the YouTube link. The trailer segment starts around 8:38. Thanks for sharing!

Cool camper! I wonder if any still exist.

Interesting too to see cigarette ads.

They built 40 trailers.

FindACase™ | RUSHTON v. FIRST NAT'L BANK

RUSHTON v. FIRST NAT'L BANK
Supreme Court of Arkansas

5. Odyssey Trailer Company was a corporation which Mr. Blewster was instrumental in organizing to [B] [244 Ark Page 506] build trailers. At one time Mr. Blewster prevailed upon Dr. Rushton to take $2,500 in stock and later asked him to please take another $2,500, as that was all the city of Magnolia lacked to get the company started. After Odyssey was organized, Mr. Blewster and others prevailed upon the Columbia County Industrial Commission to erect a building for it through a bond issue. Odyssey was financed through the First National Bank of Magnolia. After some forty trailers had been built, it became apparent that their cost was too high and the company was a sick industry.

Ruth, thanks for posting the link, we are too technology challenged (stupid) to figure out how to do that. bob

I have one of these prototypes and there is another guy that also has one. Ours is in really sad shape but we plan to restore it. Morgan wants to restore his too. I talked with a Jon from Magnolia and he wants to buy one but right now we don't want to sell. Jon says there is a rumor that some were leftover in a warehouse when the company went under and he has been trying to find out where they went. My id tag is 1234. You can tell the early ones from the older ones by the kitchen area. If they are the first ones made the kitchen is over the axles. If they are newer, the kitchen is over the tongue. Ah, nothing like a project.
