1963 Trailorboat getting ready to be restored...Color ideas?

Good afternoon,
I am getting ready to restore a 1963 Trailorboat that I have had for a few years. Other fun restoration projects have been in line first . Now I am ready to start on it. It is in great shape already, no cracks, good frame, etc.

I

I am just planning on picking a color scheme and restoring it period correct. I would like to then loan it to the RV Hall of Fame Museum in Elkhart, Indiana. (only 1/2 hour from me) for a year or so and then probably sell it.

I was wondering if any of you have Photoshop talents that could show my Trailorboat in various color combinations?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows how many of the originals are left?

Mine does not have the original style taillights yet, but I will try to track some down.

I also need to make some oars for it.

Anyway, any help or information would be greatly appreciated. I love to restore old campers as a hobby (here is a photo of a 1966 DeCamp that I am just finishing up.

And, if I can post photos I'll show you the Trailorboat with a car I created a couple of years ago called "The Spaceliner".

Thank you and have a great day.

Scotty

I was wondering. It seems some photos of Trailorboat Rolling Cottages had wooden dividers between the inside cabin and the rear door to form a rear "galley". I don't see any evidence that mine ever had the divider. Did they all have this? Or was this an option? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Scotty, Great project for sure and you are lucky to have it. The car looks very interesting I must say and obviously you love what you do !!
Restored quite a few cars myself over the years so am always interested in another persons projects. Gonna be most important to get the colour correct on that Trailorboat.

I wanted one of those so bad in the late 60s. As I recall, the one I was looking at was plain white like yours, but you have a very tempting blank canvas there. Your car is a beautiful color. A swoosh in that color with a matching stripe on the boat would be very attractive if not original.

I don't remember anymore what if any kitchen it had in back. It looks ideal for a teardrop type kitchen and i think I've seen others that way, but it's been way too many years to be sure what was original.

Thank you for the kind words

Here is a little more on the car. I started with a 1960 Ford Fairlane and turned it into what I call "The Spaceliner".

Here is a video of it: (not sure which link works better)

Also, here is an article about it in Car Kulture Deluxe magazine. It has been a fun project.

Thank you. If you look at my facebook site you can see the entire build. My facebook site is Scott Wiley.
