1980 Trillium 5500

I have a question, what is a 1980 Trillium 5500 worth in good shape? I'm looking at purchasing one and don't know if I woulf be paying too much.

Hi Brennan.

Are you looking at that one in Alberta - if it is clean inside and all working then the price seems fair. I have been monitoring Trillium prices for 4 months now and generally prices in Alberta are between $1000-$2000 less then they are in BC.

Here are two that are for sale in BC. I know secondhand that the $8900 is on an RV lot and is in rough shape. I don't know what shape the other one is in but it looks like it MAY have been a single axle model at some point.

I'd agree that Alberta prices seem to be a bit lower than here in BC. I picked up one last fall for a VERY reasonable price, but will require a bit of work -- mostly on the inside for new cushions, repair to cabinets, new blinds for the windows, and we are considering putting in a double axle, so the savings on the purchase price will go back into the trailer. For us, it was the fact that it was structurally sound, and all the major systems worked fine that was the deciding factor.

I was monitoring prices of the 5500's last fall, and ones that appeared to be in reasonable condition seemed to be going for around $8K in Ontario and Quebec. I havent seen the one Booker attached for $8900, but i have seen some of the bolers on the same lot, and most would require quite a bit of work in my opinion.

Would be interested in more details on the one listed for $7500, as it is listed as a 1984 model. i understood that the 5500s were only made in 1980 and 1981....

I am not trying to pick on Southwest RV (where the Trillium 5500 is located) as they are a dealership and they have overhead costs but most of the bolers/trilliums/scamps they advertise are a 1/3 (or more) expensive then private sales in the same area.

Unfortunately I have both firsthand and secondhand knowledge that they do not provide great customer service (at least on this old trailers). In a business like this you either provide good service if you sell high or sell low if you provide poor service.
