2009 Shasta Airflyte 12

Does anyone know anything about the 2009 Shasta Airflyte 12? I found one for sale, but can't find a lot of info about them. They are asking $7200 for it. Also said it is a fiberglass TT but I cant verify that ether.

The word "fiberglass" is one of those buzz words that is used to help sell product. Kind of like "low fat" "organic", "low sodium" etc. The trailers most of the forum members own are MOLDED fiberglass and the egg like shell is 2 pieces of molded fiberglass and the "shell" of the egg provides much of the structural support. The Airflyte and many others are fiberglass panels with numerous seams on a framework made from wood or metal and are much more likely to leak.

Molded fiberglass construction takes more time but it is much stronger and has much higher resale as well as a much more limited supply. Good luck in your search. Molded fiberglass costs more but in my mind, it's well worth the expense and the wait.

Jack L gave you some good info. If you're looking for a molded trailer you may want to stay with the brands listed on the home page. Have you been to any rallies to see the molded units? Good luck in your search.

If you Google, info says it's a Coachman brand;A Tale of Two Shastas | The Small Trailer Enthusiast
Not a molded fiberglass trailer.

Coachman Industries has ben the "parent" company for Shasta since the 70's. Maybe longer.
