2016 Dodge Ram 5.7

Does anyone pull a Escape 5-0TA with the Anderson Hitch in the short bed. Did you add Air Bags to assist the coil Springs. Thanks

I have a 2014 Ram 1500, 5.7 V8 and I use airbags to level my vehicle when towing my 17 ft Casita SD.
My Ram 1500 is not rated for 5th wheel towing according to the factory and the dealer .

Thanks Steve. Dodge's info packet says if I don't go over max weight, 5th wheel ok. I currently pull a Scamp 5er runs level now. Thinking about getting a Escape because of age and stairs up to the bed. Don't know just thinking. Thanks

I have a 2015 Ram 1500. I tow my Escape 19 and do not use air bags or a wdh. Back drops less thsn an inch.

What is your payload capacity? Should be well over 600 pounds.

The 600 lbs you quote is the DRY pin weight not the pin weight in the real world
If we take the average pin weight of an Escape 5.0 TA , the weight of a 5th wheel hitch and the weight of my wife , myself and our dog ( NO additional cargo or options ) we are over our payload limit with our 2014 Ram 1500 . I would suggest you check the Escape trailer forum and you will get more relevant information
We decided we had two options —#1 buy an Escape 21 and watch our weight or #2 buy an Escape 5.0 TA and a vehicle with a larger payload capacity . ( We decided to do neither )
My Ram 1500 V8 has a towing capacity of 10,250 lbs but only 1300 lbs of payload capacity.
A lot depends if you want to follow the vehicle’s specs or just disregard them
