A Bigfoot followed us home

Awhile back I came on to this board for the first time asking if it was reasonable for fiberglass RVs to maintain so much of their value. We had found a Bigfoot that was to our liking but the price scared me off. After being advised here about two piece construction and the previous owner reducing his price $3000, we decided if we were ever going to own a Bigfoot, this was our chance. We have it in our boat shed now and so I just want everyone that chimed in on my earlier thread to know that this is pretty much your fault.

It has sat outside since April of 2018 when the owner purchased it from the original owner, so it is dirty and need some cleaning and polishing but here she is as we found her.

Very nice! You may need a trip away from FL to confirm the 4 season capabilities, so good excuse to travel!

John, congrats on your Bigfoot purchase! We have had our 25RQ for about a year and a half and have really enjoyed it. Can't get much better as far as quality and build go!! Enjoy and safe travels!

I'm sure you will love your Big Foot as much as we do ours. Think of the fun you'll have and a lifetime of memories you'll collect.

Now you're making us jealous even though it is our fault you bought it. A little humor there. Beautiful trailer. Nice find, congratulations. Make a lot of wonderful memories with it. Don't let it sit and not be used. So many say they'll do something later on. Then something happens and later on never comes. Some people don't understand why we travel so much and take a lot of pictures. I tell them because one of these days we may only have the memories.

Congratulations. We hope you enjoy your Bigfoot as much as we enjoy ours. If you pass through the Raleigh Durham area of NC, there is a Bigfoot dealer just nearby, and if we’re not off travelling in ours you’d be welcome to overnight on our land.

Congratulations John, you've got quite the find there. Hopefully this trailer will turn out to be a real source of pleasure for you over the long haul.

As far as 'fault' goes, you will no-doubt be gratified to learn that I do offer a money-back guarantee with all of my advice and counsel on this forum; I will happily refund every penny you have ever paid me if you ever have any problem with any of my postings!

Bruce, What a nice offer. It would be wonderful to meet you in person. You never know. We do have plans to visit the NE eventually. We went to D.C. once but my wife had a hitch in her git along and all those steps were killin her so we left some for another time. You just may get a message one day.

What you are saying, I am guilty of. We put off so much waiting till everything is just right and "we'll go next year" turned into decades and so many trips never happened. Thanks for the jab to get off my duff.

For those that know the Bigfoot, this is the build sheet I found in the documents. I am just getting started getting to know all these different items. One that baffles me a bit. There is no crank-up TV antenna. There is supposed to be a "Hidden antenna" but where its' hidden and whether it works remains to be seen.

Thanks guys. We finally got everything cleaned inside. After running the dehumidifier for a few days and wiping all the surfaces with a disinfectant the musty smell is no more. That was a worry going in but it's good now. We have all the curtains and mattress cover away at the cleaners. Today we washed the outside and it's looking good. I removed all the clearance light and brake light lenses and washed the inside cause they were looking dull. This is 16 years of build up....Before and after....can you tell which is which.

antenna...

around that time (I have a 97 model year 17center bath) BF had "built-in" antennas....a wire (orange) buried in the roof coupled with a 12V signal amplifier....

reports of their performance were mixed...I tried to get mine working but gave up (I don't watch TV while camping anyway)...there is a warning sticker letting people know NOT to test unit in some manner I don't understand...I assume someone before me did that because I never got the thing to work (I was only trying to get everything in the trailer working like it was when it left the factory)

so for now I just left everything alone and only use the 12V cigarette plug included in the fixture (it's very handy where it is located)....

congratulations on the nice trailer...
