A bit off-topic: (polar) bears and trailers

OK, this is a wildlife cameraman in a (supposedly) polar-bear-proof body - I can't work out if it's a trailer or on a snowmobile. But it made me think of you guys discussing how not to provide bears with food, though generally you don't seem to be concerned about actually being the food.

He sounds like he's waiting for that horrible sound of glass cracking! For sure that NONE of our little eggs would be bear proof There's a ship in the background, wonder if that's where he was dropped off from?

To the bear, it kind of looks like a sandwich in a cellophane wrapper. I always have problems opening those myself.

LOL You can almost hear the guys heart rate going up as the bear gets more assertive.
Although we have lots of bears in my area (including my urban back yard) very glad they are not Polar bears, just black bears who are not interested in a human as food, just our garbage, fruit trees, bird feeders or taking a little dip in the back yard pools :-)

Going to arctic to see a Polar bear in real life is on my bucket list.

Don't wait too long. Every year there's less ice for them to get out on and hunt seals.

The first shot shows the tundra buggy that set up almost full time in that location to stream live polar bear cam. A person lives in it in the winter time. Notice the bear damage. I'd hate to think what one would do to an egg.

The railing of the rear viewing platform of a tundra buggy is about 8' above ground. In the first shot the nice cuddley polar bear is wandering around. In the next shot his nose is about where the camera was a few seconds before Those dark remorseless eyes make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Beautiful! Oh, they do tell you not to put your hands over the rail

Years ago I took the train to Churchill , Manitoba. I wanted to sight-see while I waited for the train to turn around so I took a hike outside of town. When I got back, the locals explained that I was walking in polar bear country and was darn lucky to not have met a bear. Foolish youth.

Ron, it moving closer to the top of my list fairly fast ...... it is most defiantly a sooner rather than later item.

Thomas I read somewhere not long ago that most people dont lock their doors in Churchill so that people have a place to run into......
