Donna! Pissed off and on all day and its POURING TONIGHT!!
Pacific Northwet or what!!
We took the 680 around San Fran, the "scenic" route.
Well the hillsides are beautiful I was kept busy dodging potholes!
From the 101 up to just past Pleasanton on the 680 the road surface
is terrible! Ive drivin on smoother logging roads up the side of a mountain!
What happened to the ROADS PAVED WITH GOLD?
Big day tomorrow, its over 400 miles to Portland,,,,,,
At least it wont all be at 55 (Ca.s towing speed limit!)

CA has the worse roads in the country. You can tell the difference when you cross any border into or out of CA. Its all about the budget issues that has faced the state for a number of years now. Budget seems to be back on track now, so hopefully they will use some of the states money for road repairs. Its killing my vehicles.

DONNA YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT THE RAIN!
And its still raining atthe house.
The last 2 days were a long haul Redding to Portland friday
and Portland home(11hrs) saturday.
Was a great holiday and we booked in for 3 months next year at
the same place.
I cleaned up the Boler and put it in the garage today and have started a list of the renos to be done before summer camping.
They will include but not limited to a rear overhead storage unit, exterior access tothe right rear underbed storage, another drawer for my clothes, shelves at the front above window, looking at undercarridge storage and spare tire mount.
First job is to wash almost 3 months of cooking and moisture off the walls and ceiling. I use bleach in water and a stiff brush followed by water and towel off. I would peronally promote NOT to paint the interior. It will clean up most times real nice with Elbow grease.
So look for more in the mod section Hole in my Boler thread.

Thanks for letting us know you're home safe and sound. This has been a fun thread to follow. Those of us in the still work-a-day world often live vicariously.

Drove up the 3a highway from wynndel to crawford bay bc. This 40or so mile strech is considered the best drive in bc by more than 1 publication! It is priceless on a motorcycle. Then took the longest free ferry ride in bc across the kootenay lake and spent our first nite at the kokanee spring provincial pk.

We chose a new site with electricity which wasn't the best but close to the EMPTY! beach. After labour day weekend it's pretty guiet in the kootenays and can be the best time to visit them but alot of services are shut down

just to close this little tour, we realized we need a few more things done which was one of the reasons for the trip, plus our fridge must need to be flipped again cause it quit, getting to be a yearly event. Is this a sign of the end of our fridge?
Friday we drove 31a over to new denver and 6 down to Castlegar, what I feel is some of the best roads in Canada. But we did it in pouring rain this time so not much to share. Spent the night in Castlegar RV PK. Today we drove up to Rossland but ended up giving up on the weather and headed home.

California's calling!!!
So off we go tomorrow morning!
This year we're using our old car as the tug.
Pretty excited, kinda nervous,
New motor and a bunch of changes as well with about 5 hrs on it.
Been watching the weather CLOSE, looks pretty good.
No big storms in the forecast, with very little presipatation.
Spokane,Portland, Grants Pass, Cresent City and down the 101.
NO back roads this year!! Those who read the beginning of our trip last year(think it's the first post on this thread) will understand!!
Packing the stuff has been a bit of a challenge with no pickup truck,,
Found that the folding bikes fit pretty good with the table top on end and the foam enterence pads stuffed in between.
This storage box happens to fit between the 2 cabinets perfect and still have room for the cooler, Easy Up add a room and 5gal water jug.
Best part I can have it empty in no time for a lunch stop or whatever,,,
Anyway hope to post pics as we go.

Good morning, I have to confess we cheated on the Boler last night,,,,,,
I knew yesterday would be a long day and found this lodge just east of Portland
on the internet.
Car ran great and the Boler tows and absorbs the bumps great with the new axle

Sun, I see SUN
Fred what was the name of the "lodge just east of Portland"? Cool. I don't recognize it and I've lived east of PDX for a couple of decades....
