AC replacement

Would like your help….
Hi everybody. My 2003 21ftRB Bigfoot AC has stop blowing cold air. This model (DUO-Therm 600 Series PENGUIN) has been discontinued. Freon can’t be used anymore as it is illegal. So I’m reaching out to see if anyone has replaced theirs. I did read a thread that “Houghton” AC was highly recommended. Also the old interior AC cover is larger than any new AC cover on the market leaving an “impression” in the rat fur from the old cover.
Thanks

If you’re anywhere near NC, you can have the Dometic Penguin I pulled off our Bigfoot to replace with Houghton. The Dometic is 3 years old, very cold air. $200 obo.

Ac replacement

Good morning Bruce
Thank you for the offer but I’m strongly considering the “Houghton”. May I ask what year is your Bigfoot?
Did you do the replacement or have an RV Tech do it?
Do you have an imprint on the ceiling from the old cover?
I usually do my own work but would like to know if it was easy or difficult.
Also it would only be a AC replacement not one with a heat pump.

2018 25 RQ. Imprint brushed out mostly. Mild soap & water, then light brushing. I installed. But I have a front end loader that I used to raise and lower both units. Very pleased with Houghton, heat and a/c are effective and quiet.

Your BigFoot is much newer than mine but appreciate the information. Not sure, if the imprint in mine can be brushed out. My plan was to cut a frame to trim it. I enjoy working with my “scroll saw” so I’m sure I can do something creative. I had to laugh as my neighbor has a “front-loader” as well and offered his help if need be.

Bruce,
I will also be contacting the supplier of the “Houghton” next week to find out which one will fit my Bigfoot.
