Allergies and wall coverings

I was looking at a very nice Cassita yesterday and was wondering what people with dust/pollen allergies do with all of the carpet...I mean there is carpet on all the wall, eveywhere. The vendor said that she has allergies as well, and that she sprays the interior with an anti-allergy spray. Making me rethink getting a Cassita...

Carpet-like materials are used by Casita, Scamp (where they call it "ratfur"), and Trillium (Outback version). I noticed that the Escape has automotive headliner material (vinyl on the lower walls and softer non-pile fabric on the upper sections); looking at this material I like it, but have no experience with it in a trailer, or any of the carpet-like materials. My Boler has soft foam faced with some thin plastic material (presumably vinyl), not the traditional Ensolite of the 13' models.

Some of the plywood in our Scamp, especially the floor and the box that was made to house the refrigerator, developed a lot of mold. After getting sick twice after Scamp trips, I have had to rip out and replace the fridge box and stripped the vinyl from the floor and treated it.

Just returned from a week long trip and so far no alergy reaction.

Don't know about carpeting on walls and ceiling, but at least it is accessible for cleaning, where the plywood wasn't.

Good luck. Alergies can spoil a vacation. I know.

Look for a Burro or UHaul - they have double hulls with bright, gel-coated FG interiors.

Look into the new Eggcamper being developed. Made in Michigan. No carpet on walls, and he has some good ideas. Double wall construction.

For our Caista, I carry a rechargable hand vacumn with a washable filter and I can vacumn walls as well as floors. But so far mdh has not had any problems with the trailer.
