Always More
We have learned that no matter how often you stop, no matter where it is there's more to the location than you can learn about in multiple visits.
This is our third stop at Silver Spur RV Park in Silverton, OR this year. As well we have stopped here in previous years. It's a full hookup park, a really clean well organized Passport Park for $17 a night.
This time we stopped for me to get a new pair of shoes, afterall we've been on the road over 250 days and we only carry two pair. We told the campground manager we were driving over to the outlets and she suggested Route 214 thru Mt. Angle.
Mt. Angle has a deep German heritage complete with Glockenspiel and the German Sausage Company. They town itself is cute and worth the trip. We ate at the Sausage company... very good food and real German beer, even sampler trays of beer. I had the Snietzel platter with kraut, onions and brown gravy and Ginny had a smoked braut. Afterwards we walked around the flowered town, watched the Glockenspiel operate, learned about "Trade Poles" and stopped at the bakery to pick up a snack for afternoon coffee.
Besides a new pair of shoes, we decided to revisit Donna D"s favorite place Silver Springs State Park.
Fortunately, too much to see...
