Have a great trip! Hope the crowds have thinned out. Such a beautiful area---if you like to hike, the hike to Bow Glaicer Falls is great. We did it early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Happy Travels

Ron, it may not be your itinerary but try to get to Drumheller to see the Royal Tyrrell Museum on the way to Banff. Well worth it.

The Dinosaur Trail RV park is a great place to stay while in Drumheller and it's almost across the road from the museum.

Have fun!

Search for, and ask about, Morraine Lake, only 8 miles from Lake Louise. I'll bet if you take the short walk around the bottom near the parking lot you will agree it is MORE beautiful than the famous Lake Louise. Trust me! I'm an old hand in the area.

Many miss that sight and kick themselves when they learn it was there later. Here's a peek.

Also you must go and see Emerald lake you have never seen such a deep green as it has.
Other hikes is the paint pots. While in Banff go to the upper hot springs for a nice soak in spring fed hot water. So much to see and do around there. Go up the chair lift to the top of one mountain views like you have never seen also there is a tea room at the top.

Have a blast!!!!

Are you headed to Jasper as well? One of my favorite short hikes is at Mt Edith Cavell. Truly spectacular!

Our Lake Louise is like Old Faithful in Yellowstone; everyone heads for these headliners and often overlook some other great tourist sights. It reminds me of a story I heard about a tourist rushing into the Louvre breathless asking the security guard, "Where's that Mona Lisa, I'm double parked?" Classic!

Lake Louise is our Mona Lisa, but the Icefield Parkway that leads north from the wonderful tourist attraction has sights like this all the way north to Jasper. Some do not even venture up that first-class road. ' I have Canadian friends who drive east to west and back on the Trans Canada, passing through Banff, who have never seen anything north of Lake Louise. Go figure!

They missed a ton of this.

P.S. That is Di and I with our sister-in-law, all the crowds are back at Lake Louise.

I'm Back! 1700 miles, 7 nights, and 322 pictures.

Canada Has a lot of great places and a lot of Tourist at the best of them.

Met a couple from Iowa with a 13' Scamp. They have been touring for 4 months. I wish they'd e-mail me. I lost the name of that great recliner they let me test.

I'll get this trip's story organized soon.

Welcome home Ron..can't wait to see some pictures

Recliner? Was it possibly a Lafuma? I bought one after test driving it at the "Rest Your Back" store. Like you, I've had back surgery and the Lafuma is without a doubt the most comfortable chair I've ever owned...even better than my La-Z-Boy. If this is the brand you're thinking...be sure to surf the web for the best prices. A number of places are offering free shipping and when I purchased mine, I got it for $100 LESS than the same chair at the Rest Your Back store. It still wasn't cheap...but worth every penny!

Donna, You are right, it's a Lafuma!

I'm heading south next week and will be on the lookout. Ron
