Any word from Raya?

Just wondering if anybody ever found out where Raya has been hiding. Been MIA for a long time now, hope e'thing is ok.

She's even made her e-mail address set to private, so I (we) can't send her an e-mail. She has to come to us. I keep hoping she's just busy.....

I was also wondering what had happened to her. I met her just before she quit posting on this forum. She said she lived in a county only about 40 miles from from my house, but I did not get her address. I shop in a town near county but I haven't seen her there either. Hope she is OK.

This past year I have been less active so missed her departure, have sent a Pm and posted about her disappearance to no avail. I don't know, but hope she's doing good. Maybe Raya went back to sailing/cruising. I miss her posts, too. Such a smart and informative person.

Actually no, I find it a common internet phenomenon. The only people who take the time to say goodbye are angry people who want the venue to know that they are angry about being slighted an want (us) to learn a lesson by their leaving.

Most people who disappear don't intend to. Life changes can be sudden.

1. They get involved in something else.
   • Many of these people eventually return- sometimes with a new membership name because they forgot the old user name and/or password
2. They get sick.
   • Sometimes another person who is aware will post this fact.
3. They disappear off the face of the earth. Literally.
   • Sometimes another person who is aware will post this fact.
   • Often it just happens.

Kind of a sad disadvantage of online friendships. We feel that we have friendships, but its a bit of an illusion. There's not really any way of checking up on anyone to make sure that they're all right.

I thought that somewhere she said that she was going on a workamping gig and may not have internet. Maybe that was someone else.
