Anyone Know About a Long Term Spot in Austin

I will be working in Austin for a year starting this May.
I've been researching where I might park my 19' Scamp.
I was very surprised that the parks that are rated well for long-term parking are already full. Found some that were not well rated that were full as well!!

I've researched Trip Advisor, CraigsList and done the basic Google search.
Does anyone know of anything that might not be listed in these search engines?
I'll be working in the heart of the city so I'm trying to avoid the parks on the outskirts to avoid long commutes.

I used to live at the Oak Forest RV Park. Nice place. They usually have openings in the short teerm and I've seen folks in short term for long periods. If all else fails, I heard of a new park in Granger. https://www.retreatat971rvpark.com/
It'd be a bit of a commute, but better than a Walmart.

Have you checked on Pecan Grove RV Park , 1518 Barton Springs Road, right across the river from Downtown. You could walk. Great park, but not advertised in many places. Phone not always answered, keep trying, and they will also call you back. Good luck... Sue

Yes, Pecan Grove does not have a vacancy and it has a waiting list.

We have had difficulty finding anything in Austin as well. (Extended visits in the fall.) I would get on waiting lists wherever possible-and also consider a few in the outying areas. Some areas have public transportation (bus and train) that go all over the area. Maybe Berry Springs in Georgetown or the KOA in Leander? Possibly something in Lago Vista if nothing else is available? With so much construction booming in the area, spots are scarce. You may have to start outside the city and get in as spots open.

Thank you for your suggestions, Shirley! Even the KOA's are full until at least Fall, in the long term area of the parks.
Looks like a good business opportunity for anyone interested in opening an RV park. Austin is your place!

One gentleman I spoke to in the Lago Vista area said that he doesn't even use a waitlist because he gets at least 10 calls a day for anything open.

Thanks for the tip on Retreat at 971 Mark, you're right about it being a commute.
Oak Forest will not allow anything under 26' and my Scamp is 19'.

You might check with the VFW on I35 just N. of 183 on northbound side. I haven't been there recently, but they had electric hookups. Not sure about sewer. Other VFW's & American Legions in the area may have RV accommodations, ask 1st.

Lake Georgetown has COE campsites, but stay is limited to 14 days.
Pflugerville has several trailer parks.

Austin area has been a hard place for a long-stay spot since 2012. We live an hour west of Austin, and there are plenty of parks in this area (Fredericksburg, Johnson City, Blanco, Hensley,...).

Our Hill Country location is an hour west of Austin and an hour north of San Antonio, so you have two excellent big-city choices. We do not really need to get into Austin much, given the towns around us - Marble Falls, Dripping Springs, Fredericksburg, and Bullverde.

Daily commute would be tough coming in from the west, if that's a requirements.

Yes, commuting into Austin every day is a must.

We lived in Buda and Caldwell County for a few years and the key is really the trip to work in Austin and how easily you get through the mess on I-35 etc.
Perhaps out in Caldwell county to the East?
Buda is nice and there is the back way into Austin?
The Hill country is nice, but probably more expensive.
