I get the feeling that owners of TT and owners of RVs, when walking thru an RV park greet each other the same without regard or knowledge of which vehicle the other came out of.
I do not like being placed in an RV site, with a gigantic class A on either side of my Big Casita 17'er. Most managers of RV sites know this and try to place the smaller TTers by themselves.
So, for practical purposes, are travel trailers RVs?

Bottom line: YES
RVtravel.com has a lot of info and Chuck, Gail and staff work hard to put out a fine publication. Great to see you subscribe to them. Most of their subscriber base is motorcoaches, but they do their best in accommodating 5th wheels and other RV types that have the same common concerns.
You seem to recognize the common camping lifestyle with your transient neighbors, regardless of what y'all are recreating in at a campground. That's good.
As far as seeking hard definitions: Have a Guinness (or two) and then then take in the simplicity: Trailers are not vehicles, but in American culture, travel trailers are RECREATIONAL and they have most of the same features/needs as those recreational things with motors.
Most campgrounds just want your money and would agree; place those with similar mentality together
when they can. When you get placed in-between Class As, first look at the facility and what they market to, then look at the bigger psychological footprint.
It's all good, bro. Happy camping.
