Question Awning poll: need/won't ever use

This is an unscientific poll. If you like and use an awning, please reply YES. If you don't care for them, find them a pain in the butt, or would never pay extra for one, please reply NO.

Reason for poll: Selling our Scamp within next two months. Awning is kaput. Need to figure out if we should replace awning or sell without.

Thanks for your input!

YES.

(But I would probably just sell it as is)

Yes but I wouldn't replace it for a new buyer.

Since you don't know your future buyer's preference I would suggest you don't replace the awning. They're relatively expensive so it may be difficult to recover the cost and the buyer may not really want or need it.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Good luck with your sale.

Yes, but I wouldn't bother to replace it. I would also sell as is.

No, I don't use one and bought two trailers without one. To me it seems like a small trailer has such a small awning it isn't worth the trouble. And definitely wouldn't replace it before a sale.

Yes, but like most would let the new owners decide what they want.

2X. Who knows if it will be important to a new buyer?

I think the awning is good -- we haven't been hit by rain, but think it would be a great place on a summer day if it is raining and don't want to stay in -- but like the others, I wouldn't replace it. If it becomes and issue for a buyer, take the money you would have spent off the price and let them get it and install it. IMHO

But, first raise the sale price so that you can reduce it by the cost of an awning.

I agree with most others. Yes they're worth the hassle for many, many people. No, I wouldn't replace it just to sell the camper.

Well said. Of course, there are awnings and there are awnings. Takes me two minutes to set mine up by myself, less if I have a helper.
Not me here, BTW, but you get the picture.

Going through some shots of places we've camped, I realized that most of them show our awning deployed. I agree with others who've said they wouldn't be without it.

YES!
The awning is very important. An outside room out of the weather and sun. A place for conversation. A place to watch the rain. A place to relax in the morning with coffee, maybe a friend and have a bite. It keeps the side of the trailer cool. I would not like to camp without one. I don't know what some comments about the hassle mean. Takes about three minutes to set up and it's good for the rest of the stay.

Probably because the standard roller awning you have is so much easier to use over the other types used on the rounded eggs.
