Barefoot launch - nuCamp

The Barefoot camper is finally going to be available in December.

https://www.go-barefoot.co.uk/

We're going to get a cassette toilet and a gray water tank on the US version.

Nice to see some campers with different colors.

What's the 'ALDE® hydronic heating system' like?

Why are there handles on the back?

nuCamp and Airstream have used them for a few years. Just like everything else in an RV there are varying opinions. The systems are quiet, but maybe slow to heat a large coach.

People park their T@b / T@gs in their residential garages, and they say they can pull the camper onto position with the handles. I haven't done that myself, and I can't confirm if the Barefoot will fit in a garage door or not. It looks like it's going to be over 7'.

Typical U.S. garage door is 7 feet tall.

I found exterior dimensions for the European model, just over 7'. (Had to do math!)

They swapped the layout to put the door on 'our' side of the camper. They could have also dropped it, but I can't find any info confirming or denying.

Someone will put it in their garage anyway if it's close by running baby rims or deflating the tires.

Thanks for posting the specs. Helpful information. Bed is pretty short. Wonder which dimension is longways?

Standard garage door "height" is 7'. Actually an inch or 2 lower.

There is a nice thorough YouTube video on this new trailer if you want to check it out.

To start in the "$40K's". I guess $40K is new $20K.

It is. Have you priced a Happier Camper HC1 lately? New Scamp 13’s start around $20K now, while an HC1 is pushing $40K with a camp-ready module assortment. A 16’ Scamp, which is closer in size and function to the Barefoot, is $30K now. Prices have very nearly doubled in the last 12 years.

If the Barefoot is as well-finished as photos appear with good build quality, $40K seems about right in the current market. Seems similar to what the Nest might have been.

Is it all fiberglass shell? Single layer or insulated? What do we think about the seams along the top?

That's the UK body manufacturing process. nuCamp is supposed to be manufacturing them in the US. I know they've flipped the curb side for the US market, so I assume they've got new molds stateside.

Well, the ribs that show on that unit are not visible on the finished product… this seems to mean a double wall? I really like the look of this one!
