At least now we know what to do when people clamor to find a burro: call Gina. She will, for a fee, will round one up for you and deliver anywhere in the world. Overnight delivery available.

This explains why our garbage cans are so often lidless even though food and water has been left out, maybe not enough? I draw the line at gently chasing our Burro out of the neighborhood, however. Plastic bags are everywhere, don't you know. Too risky.

Just saw a herd of wild burros in Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota! Actually, the herd originated with the release of a number of pack animals many years ago, but they've returned to the wild for several generations. Pretty little guys, they are, and one of the many unexpected treats and treasures we discovered in the past few days while camping in the Black Hills.

They were close to the road in the park's Wildlife Loop and seemed attracted to us at first, but clearly lost interest when they realized that our egg is a U-Haul, not a Burro.
