Canada Day 2017

Anyone up in the north states or visiting Canada now, be aware that tomorrow July 1st is Canada Day and this year is a biggy with it being our 150th birthday. Most communities will be partying with fireworks and other activities. Be aware that many businesses will be closed for a 3 day weekend. Canada national park passes are free this year to get you in the gate (regular camping fees apply) at all national parks and museums. Enjoy the events but remember that our beer is stronger so be careful!

Please note that the police presence will be high around many of the events due to threats made by ISIS especially in Ottawa and other provincial capitals.

Maybe in a small town businesses will close, but Walmart and Safeway etc. will be open and you can get beer at any BC Government liquor store on July 1.
It's no stronger than U.S. beer. Varies from 3.5 to 8 per cent, with most being close to 5 per cent, just like the rest of the world.

HAPPY CANADA DAY

Greetings to all my fellow Canadians and those who wish they were.
Although I am a "DC" (Displaced Canadian) AKA a Resident Alien in the USA, we still fly the Maple Leaf on the 1st.

Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day and 150th birthday to all Canadians. We love visiting your beautiful country, and hope to make many more trips there in the future. We've stayed in national parks in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia and found them all to be top notch.

Happy Canada Day

Happpy 150th Birthday. In 1967 my dad took the whole summer off and parents and 3 kids went from Florida to the west coast, up to BC, and over to Expo in a small Airstream. Some of the best memories of my childhood, and I even came across some Centennial coins the other day. Wish I'd thought to schedule a trip this year, but I'll make a visit soon. Enjoy the holiday.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

We have alot to be thankful for and alot to be proud of. Although our Canada Day here in NB so far is rainy and cool, it won't dim the brilliance of tonight's fireworks nor diminish the pride I feel to be a Canadian.

Bonne fete, Canada!

Aw, yes, the myopic BC perspective. There is a whole country beyond those mountains where, heaven forbid, we may not be as enlightened and may may even be seen as backward, but where statutory holidays are still days for family, friends and relaxation, not commerce.
Happy Canada Day!

Canada Day

Wow, time flies. I remember celebrating our 100th while in Grade 9 high school!
